Question Calling M2 large owners

Can one of you guys w/ a M2 large IC or ASP large do me a favor? I bought a M2 large from Fritz Flynn and he had a single turbo attached to the IC. I have the stock twins and I need the pipe dimensions from the y-pipe to the Intercooler end tank. I need to have one fabricated and I need to give the exact dimensions. If someone could help me out that would be great. Thanks

You could probably PM "Kevin T. Wyum". I'm sure he could help.

Or PM me next week when my car is back from the body shop and I pull off the pipe and measure it up for you.

I tried Kevin and he said he wouldn't share the info or sell the pipe.

Thanks jpandes!

That sounds like PFS's practice: If you didn't buy the product from him, he wouldn't support it. But at least PFS would support it if you buy upgraded software or other items.

What a d*ck.

Nothing special about the pipe if you can find someone to do a little welding for you.

On my M2 large, the pipe to the IC is set up for an air pump so it's basically a 90 degree bend with a radius of about 3 inches. However, you need a 45 degree bend with a radius of about 2 inches to clear the air pump.

Hell, I should make a mold of this pipe as a template.

Try mocking it up with 2.75 inch diameter plastic pipes with various bends and then take the mock up to your fabricator.

I am in need of piping as well for this IC...

I wonder if we get enough people would he be willing to sell us the IC piping?

I've gone about six months trying to find a total of a day or two to put my car back together and until this last week haven't managed to find one. I'll get to my list of charity work right after I finish doing everything for my kids, wife, house and real company that I've been putting off. Sorry, if I'm going to short change my family and employees by helping someone I've never met or talked to in my life it sure isn't going to be for free. Grow up, sheesh. If I was single without children, living with my parents and working a 9 to 5 job I'd likely be a lot more giving with my time, well sorry that's not the case by a long shot. Anyway that's what money is for, to exchange the value of one another's time when there aren't other desirable tangible items or services to barter. To be blunt the only people that ever **** and moan about others not doing things for free are the ones with no money or whose time isn't worth much. That isn't aimed at Patfat, he was polite in his requests and wasn't asking for a handout, all I can suggest is that he waits for the air pump pipe to be finished as that will be sold as a single item, instead it was directed at a resident blowhard who's time is clearly of very little value and very little in demand based upon how much of it he spends here.

My apologies to everyone else for the outburst but I find it pretty damn offensive that someone who claims to be a "professional" (cough, has to post anon, need I say more?) has the nerve to call me a dick for not giving stuff away or breaking with a 10 year policy that kits will never be sold in parts.

If other people want to help Pat out I have no problem with it, I won't ask people not to give you pictures or anything (smirk). In fact I'd like to thank them for finding a solution for you; I simply don't have the time or want to go down that slippery slope of doing it for one person and establishing a precedent.

Best of luck with it.

No problem. I'm just going to have the car towed to Mitch Piper and have him fab one for me. I would wait for the airpump pipe, but I have removed the airpump.

Giving stuff away? Patfat was offering to buy the part.

Policy? Schomicily? Sounds like an excuse. In fact, that was the same line of carp PFS said about his all cash policy.

Suppose I bought an IC from you today? With the propensity of the pipe to the inlet of the IC rubbing with the hood, would I have to buy the whole damn kit just to get one freaking pipe due to your inane policy?

BTW, is the way to deal with the rubbing of the hood is to take a hammer and dent the inside of your hood?

But you did do it for others on the big list: making one off exhausts, one-off headlights. so you're not holier than anybody else around here when it comes to sticking to your word.

At least give Patfat some pointers or directions. Policy is just a cover for when you can't explain the inanity of your decision or an unwillingness to reconsider the policy. And if you're going to be a vendor, be a real vendor instead of this hobby like attitude.

I'm sure Chuck of RE would have no problem supporting the market for the M2 large.

THis was a well thought out and written outburst. I can totally8 understand why Kevin wouldn't want to hand out his work-product for free...It's a business for him. On the hand, I'd be happy to help out. Tinkering with my car is hobby for me.

that's fine, but what if we had a group of people interested in buying the intercooler pipes off you, would you be interested in distributing them then?

pat instead of wasting your money and effort on a tow, you could try using some dryer ducting from home depot. bend it to the shape you need, then wrap it in duct tape so it stays in that shape. Bring that to the bender. I've done all my custom bent pipes like that...through the mail.

That's a pretty good idea. This leads me to think of using plaster of paris to get a stiffer structure once the plaster of paris dries up.

I might have to try this out as the original pipe from M2 rubs against the hood. The fix for it now is to wrap the offending portion of the pipe with silicone pipe to prevent the rubbing from wearing down the pipe.

It would be nice to get a custom IC pipe that will clear the hood.
