Thumbs up C-WINGSŪ Carbon Double Sided OEM Hood

I wanted to know if the C-WINGSŪ Carbon Double Sided OEM Hood will hold at high speeds because ithey recommend using hood pins. i dont really like the look of hood pins i like the clean oem look . the hood look like the the hook the hods the hood to the lock would break off from it being molded to the hood. heres the web site and tell me what you think and if anyone has it.http://www.importfan.com/index.asp?P...OD&ProdID=1484

I think all non-metal hoods should have pins on them. I know they look tacky and all, but just drive over 60mph and watch the hood. No, that's not a V8 rumbling under there, well maybe for me it is, hehehe.

Looks like crap but you'll need it if you drive over 50

Why in the world would anyone pay for an OEM replica? The only reason to replace it is for venting.

Because it is carbon fiber look, and that matters more than anything else in the world.

Be careful when you drill for the neon windshield washer spray nozzles.

Yeah, no ****. These aftermarket carbon fiber hoods are only marginally lighter than stock, and they never fit right. Why anybody has a preference for these over the build quality of OEM is beyond me.

Never fit right? I've only seen one that hasn't fit right.

Most people either buy them for the look of cf or because they need a hood and oem is expensive. I personally like the look of dry cf, but no one has come out with one of those for an FD.

Get hood pins!!!! you dont want your RX-7 ending up like this:

He was going about 120 mph and the hood flew up.

Maybe you could get the "CF" (not real CF but fiberglass with some CF cloth applied) that you listed and be creative and come up with some sort of reverse hinging like 1st gen RX-7's. (where the hood hinges are in the front)? It would give you that CF look you are looking for and the safety of it not being able to open (or break the latch and open) at high speeds.

Looking at that hood.. I say you might want to consider hood pins.. I don't see any vents to relieve some pressure that might build under the hood.. if it was scoot or ad9 or other large vented hoods, I say you might not need it.. but definitely i say go with hood pins..

If you want perfect fitment and weight saving but with carbon fiber, wrap the OEM hood. No hood pins needed. Fits perfectly, and it's carbon fiber on the outside. $500 + shipping and I can do this for you.
