Buzzer under WOT + 100

I finally did some minor speed runs. About a half hour out of town is a community with a bunch of farms (Katy, TX). I was hanging out at a co-worker's ranch, and took some of his son's friends for a few rides.

There was a little road, about a mile long, that I used for some speed runs. I was shifting at about 7500-8K, and kept hammering the gas. I would get up to 125-130, then back off because the road wasn't smooth enough for me to want to go faster.

Anyways, on the 2nd set of runs, under WOT in 3rd, I starting getting a warning buzzer from the dash. I don't believe I saw any lights lit up. I backed off, did some minor acceleration (up to 100), then turned back to the ranch. On the road in, I again hit it. at about 100, under WOT, I heard the same buzzer. When I back ed off, it immediately went away, as before.

No problems on the standard 65-70 cruise home. Nothing seemed wrong.

When I mentioned it to a friend, he said it might be a low oil pressure warning. Does this sound correct?

I looked in the owners manual, but found nothing of relevance.

Was it the redline buzzer?

if you were at 100 in 3rd, it was probably the rev buzzer - goes off when you pass the redline, which is right around 100 in 3rd.

.. a great little warning that allows one to keep eyes on the road rather than watching the tach!!

A friend of mine had an automatic and anytime she got above 90 or 95 a buzzer would go off, it was rather annoying, since she usually drives 90+, i don't think she ever figured out what it was

I hear the buzzer too when over 100+mph
not even close to redline. My car is in good condition
mechanically. But never got to figure out what the hell it was...

Maybe it's a SLOW DOWN buzzer.

I never heard it until now. I have indeed pushed redline in lower gears, and hit the rev limiter, but I did not hear the buzzer. I would say I am only hearing it over 100.

I only heard that buzzer the second day I had my FD. I was going about 75 in second and it went off. Since then I only set it off once and that was reving it for my friend.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot to say I've been over 100 several times and never heard it.

I love my rpm buzzer - it's functional - and it's trick.

Sounds like there's a few that aren't working correctly...

jspecracer7 - setup is currently twins on a stock motor, all the rest of the typical bolt ons, yup 1300cc, you got it. Pineapple Racing large streetport & GT35/40 are in my VERY near future (2wks).

igtT, I never really tuned that part of the map, never thought I would see that part of it... (8000rpm+ and no boost).

The friend of mine with the automatic had a constant beeping/buzzing that would not stop until the car dropped below about 90mph. No where close to the redline. I'm not refering to the noise the car makes when you hit the rev limiter (8100rpm). This was definitely a different noise.
