I'm going to be buying a new core shortly, and I wanted peoples opinions on whether I should get the bog reman or a streetported version.

I'm running a full non-sequential conversion, plenty of fuel capabilities, dp,mp, and catback. What pro's/con's can I expect from each option??

target is 400rwhp.

I think Jason gets his motors from Pineapple Racing so anything they can do he can get for you.

If you want 400rwhp on twins which is not all that common on stock twins then you will definitely want a fairly large streetport.

We stopped doing Pineapple motors over a year ago. We do all our own work including porting.

I would go with a large street port. You are going to pickup alot of top end power and the car is still going to idle well. We have a car here with our large street port, non sequential with ported turbo manifolds that put down 352 RWHP on a mustang dyno. That is around 400HP on a dynojet and that was at 15 lbs of boost.

Get the large/mild streetport.. IF not you gonna regret it.

If you want 400 hp, with stock twins, porting is a must. Idle may have to moved up a bit to be smooth, but thats no big deal.

Yes. Turbos will spool faster with a large port.

if youre debating it, then I think youve already made your decision. you will want the port. Its easy to add a bigger turbo, IC, or different exhaust, but the only way to upgrade the porting is ANOTHER REBUILD. I'm currently waiting on a stage3 motor from RX7store. This port is still very streetable and Zavier drives his daily, so I dont think that daily driving is unreasonable on a large port



edit: yes, 400whp on stock twins will require some porting and prob at least 15psi

To get 400 rwhp out of stock twins you're going to need a port, and you are seriously going to be pushing the twins out of the efficiency range. You're looking at 17 psi+ That's going to create a lot of heat and back pressure. 360-380 rwhp is a safer more realistic goal.

360-380 is close enough for me. More than enough for a daily driver me thinks

Anyone in Caifornia able to pass emissions with a large streetport such as the one that jason offers? I wold love to have my motor ported- but it MUST pass smog...

If you have enough time and money you can do anything! Of course FD's have problems passing stringent emission testing stock, with a few modifications it becomes even harder. If you do a search you should come up with tips and tricks on passing the test. You're going to want to make sure that you cat/cat's, air pump, and emission related equipment are functioning properly.
