search deeper, bud. Don't buy this car, it had a very common problem, where the 5th gear syncro broke, however its $15,000 which is the typical going rate of a third gen (FD3S) RX-7. Also, on the home page of this website, scroll down towards the bottom and you'll see there is a "for sale" section on the site.
If $15,000 is a little pricey for you to swing, I highly reccomend getting a second gen RX-7(FC3S). You can get a decent quality second gen for about the same price as a Fox body Mustang GT. Around $2000-6000.
Since you are obviously new, I highly recomend that you read the FAQ at the top of this forum. Owning an RX-7 is not the most practical idea, especially if your on a tight budget. RX-7's tend to respond poorly to abuse, and as with all high end sports cars, they are very high maintnance. With a car like an RX-7, you can expect to put in as much wrench time as you get to drive it.
Also, go to the regional forum for your area, and look for the sticky at the top of the forum which has a list of mechanics who specialize in rotary engines. This is important, as dealerships and most typical mechanics tend to give these cars back in worse shape than they came in.
Remember, there were less than 14,000 FD3S RX-7's ever built in the USA, and many of them have been totaled or neglected or both. So, before you buy, do your homework. Find the major mechanical flaws with these cars and try to talk to a few forum members. Get as good a feel for the entire ownership experiance as you can, before you actually buy. You will be extremely hard pressed to find one with original miles, however, so do not deny a rebuilt motor sight unseen. Rebuilds are common with these cars, and should not be overlooked.
good luck,
Brian

borci88: A series 3 is a first generation RX-7. Perhaps you meant 3rd Generation or Series 6-8.

Must be 3rd Generation he means - because I am looking too and that is about the right price for a 3rd Gen.
Series 6 start at about 30k(ish) (1993-96)
Series 7 mid to high 30s (1997-99)
Series 8 start around 40k and go up and up and up (2000-02).
Price depends on mods, year, condition etc. I think everyone highly recommends looking for low km.
Have a look at these for some nice RX7s
