Buying An RX-7

I'm 16 and I'm taking my parents car (2002 eclipse spyder GS) and then searching for an RX-7... I was just wondering since the rotary engine and all, is it hard to find certain parts and if something goes wrong is it hard to find a place 2 fix it (if i cant do it myself) -What are the cons of owning 1?

--Just wanted to ask some RX-7 owners

Let me tell you a lot of things can and probably will go wrong with the rx-7. It seems most people who have purchased the RX-7 a long time ago and recently always has to do something to it. Whether it being white smoke coming out of the exhaust, starting issues, turbos leaking oil, boost spikes, something blowing up, losing boost pressure, can't shift into gears but sometimes it does, paint flaking off, plastic interiors flaking off, 5th gear won't work, radiator busted.....

A lot of issues....but....most peole who do continue to work on their cars love it and can't live without it for the most part. I've been searching for a rex for a while now and I have learned a lot being on this forum.

I suggest you do the same, just keep clicking on these links and see what problems people have run into....and what resolutions, if any, came out of it.

Just to let you know, I'm still searching.....I've been looking hard for about 2 weeks now but off and on around one year. Good luck!

BTW, if you ever test drive one, man, I think you'll fall in love....turbos, lightweight, precise steering, 2 door, 2 seats, man....I could go on....
