OK OK.. actually there is 40k miles left on the warranty and one year and it does have a damaged title, but the car looks very good now except for needing the back bumper repainted and he flooded the engine b/c he let it sit to long. so I have to take it to the Mazda dealer and have it un-flooded. Other than that the car is perfect. And it was owned by an older man around the age of 65. The car just needs a few minor things(unflooded and back bumper) and it will be perfect and for.... and NO this is not a misprint...... $4500. I can't pass it up.
Thanks and let me know what you think.

if the engine was "flooded" because
it sat too long, it's probably completely toast,
which means a 5 grand new engine/rebuild.
plus you dont know the condition of the frame,
if the frame was bent in an accident, the car is probly
not worth the effort.
course, if it DOESNT need a new engine,
and only like 1 or 2 grand repair,
then sure, it's definetely worth it,
and yeah... if the frames not bent its proly worth it too, hehe

So you honestly think its not worth 4500? NOt with a nearly perfect body with it just being flooded and it's under warranty if the engine is blown. I am about to purchase this car, please give me some more feedback.
Thanks

I may not be flooded, the chamber could be full of coolant from bad water seals.. engine is toast.
for 4500 you got to expect it needs new engine and turbos, I have no idea how well bent frames can be reapired these days.. but I have a friend who totaled his FD about 3 years ago by hitting a little TINY tree at 30mph head on... it wasnt THAT much damage done, but they cost so much to repair the insurance just called it totaled and he bought a new one.
hey it's CHEAP for looking so good, even if you just sit it on your lawn as an orniment

The car has already been repaired, it was wrecked like 3 years ago and you can't even tell now. He let the car sit there for like 2 months and then tried to start it and it was flooded and even if the engine is blown up, I'll get a new one for free.
I'm not going to have over 5 grand in this car and its' going to look perfect and have a new motor possibly, How is that not a good deal????

They'll find a reason to deny a warranty claim.
Depenends on the title, if it's "salvage" in mint shape the car still isn't worth more that 8-9K.
If it's "repaired" I'd pay 11-12K max for a mint one.
Still, if you don't buy it, I'd think about it myself, I need a new FD, and I've got tons of parts in the garage to fix anything.

It doesn't sound like we can talk you out of it. Just remember that we warned you when you are cursing at it in a few weeks. (there are many others around if you are patient)

I have wanted an FD FOREVER, I car faxed the car already and it does have a salvage title. I needed a cheap car and this deal came up and I just went nuts, I thought it was a good deal, but I guess you guys don't think so. I have already put 500$ down on it though and the car is DEADSTOCK so the warranty should work.
Are there any Saint. Louis people here? THat is where the car is.
I sold a NICE Trans Am to get this car (picture below) and I can use my moms car during the week for school and drive the FD on weekends. I just love this cars soooo much and I was soo pumped to get one, but I guess I messed up.
Thanks and let me know if you live in STL.
Thanks
Allen.

I'd say buy it. If the body is straight, and looks good. And it has the warranty. Make sure it's transferrable.
You might be looking at quite a bit of work on it. But sounds like a great price.

Hell,
I just spent $4K on a single turbo and a Power FC. Wow, I could have just bought another FD. Spent about $11K this year only, thats about my average yearly ownership costs. Does not include car payments or insurance. Thank the Rotary Gods that the car is paid off, those $567 car payments were killing me

You would be an idiot NOT to buy the car. In Dallas, the price of 7's have shot up thanks to fast and furious(I'm assuming).
Here's worse case scenario:
You buy the car. The engine is blown. Warranty WILL cover it even if they do give you a hard time. If you find the right shop, they will do the fighting with the warranty for you. No problem. Now let's say the frame is bent. I doubt it is going to be bent bad enough for you to know unless you plan on driving the hell out of it(which you shouldn't do on the street anyways...there are laws you know). Maybe you sink a total of 2 thousand in the car making it look real nice and run perfect. Now you have 6500 invested in the car. You can then turn around and sell it for up to 14 grand no problem. There are plenty of kids out there that are dying to have a 7. Like I said before, thanks to fast and furious all they want is get a 7 and drop a 40 billion shot of nos into it
This could be your gateway to being a car dealer!

#1 if it has salvage title your inshurance is gonna be higher
#2 i dont know how true this is but some guy told me that if the frame is dammaged when you hit high mph the car could pull to one direction he told me youd be driving down at lets say 120 and all of a sudden it pulls hard to the left. i dunno about you but i wouldnt want to be in that situation
just take those into consideration

Hmm..... I'm going to drive the car and if drives funny, I'll tell the guy, I won't be doing much racing with it, I want it to last. This car was fixed right so I shouldn't have any problems.
Thanks

YOU WILL REGRET BUYING THAT CAR
salvage title, need I say more. Everybody always says oh yeah great deal, it is salvage title for a reason. Maybe he went to claim the ngine and body damage, and insurance said forget it salage. Now he gets it somewhat repaired, can;t afford a bumper and tries to sell it. let that thing go to the salvge yard where it belongs, you haev no money to fix it up. it costs make 1500 by itself just to do the initial maintenace, fuel filtre, plugs, brak efluid, etc. You are goign to get into serious trouble. Furthermore, FDs don;t flood by sitting around, and I gaurantee the engine is shot. take it to the mazdauh delearship and they will screw you too. For my first car I got bit with a 944. I sank 10k into it in 1 year, and it was in good shape when I go it, high miles though.
I bet 50$, you will never get it running right. and eventually in 1 year after you owe everybody some money you will just say **** it, like this guy did and sell it to some unsuspecting person liek yourself for whatever you can get. Forget the 500$, that is just the price of one tire, for these gems.

Hi,
I HAVE bought a salvaged title, totaled car.
i didnt know it was salvaged when i got it, so i was ripped off.
But they're pretty right, you cant really tell.
The first two days i had it were like a dream come true
I was so happy. And even after i found out, it took me a while
to decide that i didnt want to keep it.
But eventually every time i drove the car, it was just reminding
me that i got ripped off. course then the engine died, but
thats another story(it had been in an engine fire too )
but anyways, the big thing about salvaged cars, is psychological,
if you pay close to nothin for it, and like it... then it really doesnt
matter.
especially if the warranty company covers the engine.
But if it DOESNT cover the engine, thats 5k more,
making it a 9k car. which still isnt that bad, but do you want
to pay that much?

OK, I found out today the title is clean and clear, I think I may have gotten the wrong VIN, I looked at the title today however. SO that is a GOOD thing. The warranty company won't be able to come down on me for that. PLUS, I know the guys who work at the Mazda Dealer This car rides awesome and you can't tell it was ever wrecked in any way. I will know soon when I get it what's wrong with the engine.
