Do the reliability mods that are listed in the Faq. (upgraded rad, ast, down pipe, etc)
dont do any performance mods on the engine or u will be rebuilding it sooner, power mods are hard on a high mileage engine.
Save them for a fresh & strengthened rebuild motor.

Who would have a LHD if they were stationed in Japan? And a person would be gay to say that LHD's are gay ;-)

Who cares what others think? If that's all the money he has, then let him do it his way. As long as he knows that he's going to need a rebuild soon, it's all good...

When you factor that into the price a USDM is a good deal after all.
USDM engines never blow? please..

all these horror stories!

man.i bought my FD from japan last febuary '07. it had 133k on it. all my friends had a pool going on how long it would last. two weeks,to two months was the most.
i changed the oil.changed the coolant, plugs, fuel filter. and drove it on stock boost all year, and took care of it,and also beat the **** out of it.ran fine all year(i did well over 10 track events too). dont be scared of these cars, treat them right, and they will treat you right. maybe some people left out what they did wrong when they blow...i.e clogged fuel, bad plugs, overboosting, ect, ect.

I agree completely with this statement. I live in Japan. There are lots of early model FDs around with high kms and shabby interiors and nobody wants to buy these locally. These have often been mistreated, stored outside, or thrashed.

Personally i believe if you want a good FD, around $10,000 purchase price should deliever a reasonable FD in Japan. They are still very popular cars in Japan and very expensive. Spirit Rs are still selling for around 40 to $50,000 dollars.

There is a reason to buy the car within itself.

I think 99% of us have received more dick coverage than kitty coverage with this car in ownership.
