make sure its safetied and able to be registered and insured, a couple changes have to be made to them to meet cdn regulations.

put some cash aside to have it rebuilt. look to spend 5000-7000$ for that.

93000KM is not all that bad.

That is about 58000 miles and if you treat a rotary with special care it can last longer than that on the original rotary.

the ask about a warrentty. probably wont get one but might get a 30 day. ask for the vechile history. when i imported mine i asked for the history and now me and the cars only other owner are pen pals. (nice old guy works for mazda hip couldn't use the clutch) outside of that compression. take a look to see if it is modified or if it was. even little things can be telling. example old guy couldn't use the clutch so even though it was stock i knew the clutch would be absolutly ripped appart. which it was a week later clutch died lol. outside of that the link up top is the best

While the engine might be good, there is a very good chance it is getting time for a rebuild. Read up on coolant seals, for one.

Also go over the car with a fine toothed comb - any broken or damaged interior parts that you expect to fix must be noted and priced out. Some parts are easy to get, others are incredibly difficult and/or expensive, and you deserve to get that deducted from the price tag.

At that mileage, expect the pillowball bushings to be noisey and need replacement. Search under 'pillowball' for more info.
ALL fluids, including transmission and differential should be changed immediately.
I wouldn't give them any money or commit to anything on paper until I drove it. Check the FAQs under BUYING.

Sounds pretty good, i was once looking at a car with this amount of kms, i was told that at 100,000kms open the engine up and change the seals. If you wait for the engine to blow, it will cost far more due to the housings and other parts being likely unusable.

My 1992 JDM RHD blew its engine at just a bit over 100,000 km. Broke an Apex seal... Like stated above... if you buy it, set some extra $$$ aside and be ready.
You will enjoy the car though, definitely worth it.
What is the Importer that you are buying from? I'm still wanting to take mine back to the states when I'm finished in Italy.

Most of the FD JDM's that we have seen here in Quebec have all needed rebuilds within a year.

When you factor that into the price a USDM is a good deal after all.

unless you get into what I did... a '93 r1 that i paid 14,400 for, imported into canada, and then found out the hard way that the coolant seals were toast, and it was well hidden.. low pressure rad cap, and a grounded low coolant sensor! F'ing dealership! Now i'm into the car for more than I wanted to be, adding a rebuild into the picture. Be prepared! I figured i could drive it for a summer before it **** the bed, but no such luck.

If you expect to have to do a rebuild, then you won't be disappointed besides, look on the bright side... once it's done, you'll have a reliable, fun ride and you won't have to worry about whether or not it's going to leave you screwed at the side of the road

i'm sure it'll be blown right out of the box just because these cars have been sitting years on end and there's just things that need to be done when parking any cars for that long. Coolant will most likely go bad and acidic chewing up the seals my advice to you is to buy one with a good body and expect a rebuild owning a RHD FD on my own i know what i'm telling you. watch out for shady things such as aftermarket rad caps or even the original rad caps that were set to be used at 1.1 bar because mazda actually changed it in later models to .9 bar usually if this is changed just but looking at a pic of the engine bay there is a good chance it's victim of coolant seal failure which i believe most of them have right out of japan just because the fact that they've been sitting for so long that's why most people who buy FD in Canada try to sell them off in the early signs of these signs such as coolant flowing over the overflow tank remember these cars are 15+ years old expect problems and expect to pay more than you think you should. budget yourself for around 14-16 grand for one of these but no doubt they come down in great shape. in my opinion get one that's highly modified because things you need to change as far as "reliability mods" are concerned they'll almost all be done and maybe you might get a nice ECU with it too...but since this one is already landed take a search on the forum for "buying an rx7/FD" and i'm sure you'll find sometime to help you out as far as checking twin turbo set ups....but again have some money aside especially if they aren't registering it for you cause that can be a pain in the ***. Or i could be wrong you might actually get a working FD from Japan good luck. good way to check the coolant seals is to do the champagne test do a search on the forum for that.

Remember what happened to Goodfellas fathers car? It had such low mileage too. At this point in time I don't think mileage has much to do with how much longer the engine will last. Time is an enemy to coolant seals. You WILL have to rebuild/replace the engine soon if it has not been rebuilt but then you will have yourself a very nice car!

Why don't you just buy a nice LHD with a new motor instead of buying a RHD and then having to do a bunch of crap to it? Don't be cheap. Spend the extra money on a LHD. RHD's are gay and all people think is that you couldn't afford a LHD.

Or, some people have a LHD because they were stationed in Japan, and some people are just gay to say LHD owners are gay. Sorry, had to bust your chops a bit!!
