Buy An Fd On Ebay?

Ive been looking for a perfect FD. So far its not been successful. Im not buying one quite yet, but i def will soon. I'v noticed some nice looking ones on ebaymotors, but dont know if its safe to buy one from ebay. WAt u guys think>?

ANd if worst comes to worst i do, wat things should i check for, and ask to kinda semi makesure its ok. Like idle problems, smells, noise ect. I know its not 100% but asking question is better than not asking.

Buying an FD off of Ebay is no different than buying any other car off of Ebay....

I bought my FD on Ebay 4 yrs ago. You have to have funding available for purchase because the seller won't give you time for getting a loan after you win the bid.

My car is in perfect shape and I love it.

I bought 3 of my fds off ebay....2 were exemplary..in fact one of them is probably one of the cleanest R1s left in the country. You should, check out the car prior to bidding or buying it. There have been lots of scams lately so look out for those from out of country sellers or ridiculously low priced RX-7s. Gl on the search. The best thing you can do is find a local RX-7 so you can check out the car.

first simple test

The first way that I test the seller is to send them an email with a couple of easy questions. If no response or answers come back showing no knowledge of the car(product) I walk away.

Good luck, I have had good luck on ebay 99% of the time but in buying lower cost items (less than $20) have been burned a couple of times.

another advise when bying from ebay, if those seller requested you to send by western union or money order to the particular location, don't bother to try dealing with them as this is the scam. i'm sure anybody did know about this but is kind of sad though that there's still some people out there that fall to this kind of scam.

HELL yea i found out just by doing research that you need to see the car before you buy it. There has been a lot of people trying to scam lately posting cars on autotrader and it says they are located in a certain area but when you email them they are in another country haha well i almost bought one like that then the guy said "send me the money through Western Union but if you tell them it is for a car on autotrader they will not do it so tell them that its for a friend" i did not do it and i looked on ebay and the same pictures and vin number where on another ad for a guy in texas and the carfax showed the owner to be in texas really sucked. The guy emailed me back STILL TRYING to get my money saying he posted the car on ebay before he went on autotrader but the ebay ad still had recent bidding action going on. Some people, i swear.

What they said...

Anything that is too good to be true is likely a scam....almost without exception.

Make sure your research carefully what you are buying.

Be aware that scammers will send you authentic looking emails that ask for part payment. These will have an EBAY at the top or some official looking letterhead. If you question anything, then send to EBAY for confirmation.

I bid once on a car and didn't win, but got quite a threatening email from the seller about not following through on the deal. It took me off guard for a moment.

Most of the scams I have run into were really nice cars. They have to be to get your interest.

Got my FD off of ebay and emailed the guy then phoned him then asked him where he worked and what position he held then proceded to get his company name from phone book and asked to talk to him through his work (also researched his company).

The guy was a FD know it all haha so i was confident to buy it.

Some of you will prolly remember the car, the guy who was selling had to relist it due to the previous person who won the auction being to tall to get in.

the car has changed some what haha

the only problem is how come ebay did not prevent this type of scamming from happening, i have a few transaction that i got burned myself and when i e-mailed ebay about it requesting them to ban that user account and they don't even do any ****, and i even call them for few hours for couple of days when they finally ban the user account to prevent me from harassing them.
