Bushings for the RX7
#2
There are many bushings in the suspension. Mazda, Mazdaspeed, and Unobtanium are the only aftermarket choices for many of them if you don't want to go custom. Some of the stock bushings are already spherical bearings, so no upgrades will ever be offered for those. M2 and other vendors sell replacement toe links and trailing links that replace some bushings with rod ends.
Which bushings are you looking to replace? There are many threads in the Suspension section about what is available for different bushing locations.

Unobtanium/jimlab woudl be the best i think, all nylon
all others are urathane/rubber sets which are... lacking
im lucky to be able to buy a set of my brother which was lucky enuf to get in on the group buy at the time. these are no longer being offered though unless you get get another group by going to make it worth it to jim. a few months ago i heard that jim actually had a few sets left over from the first group buy but im 95% sure they are all gone now though.

I'm not sure what bushings I need. I just got the car running and I believe the ones in the rear end are loose. When I step it down, I get somewhat of a steer in the rear end where it wants to direct me to the right. I am thinking it is the bushing that people refer to as the clunking.

dont put urethanes in. mine came with them and the squeaking is drivin me freakin nuts. tried everything to quiet them but the only thing that works is pressure washing the undercarriage, but that dries out in a day

jimlab is putting together another group buy as we speak...and its about to end.
Check the group buy section out and get in on it. I have a feeling it will be the last run.

sounds like you need an alignment before going through all that trouble with bushings. also make sure you have the same type/brand tires on the rear of the car.
many people say not to use jimlab's unobtainium bushings for the street. its overkill. click that search button and read up on it.

I am getting the klunking noize, I think. Just wondering where to start to determine if there is a problem with the bushings. Drives straight down the road, does not pull at all. It feels like the rear might be a bit loose from too many hole shots.
Only have got to put 300 miles on the car so far.
I thought there was a kit from Suspension Techniques or Energy Suspension??? Can anyone confirm?

Don't think there is a kit from either of those 2.
The rear clunking noise probably means you will need some of the rear pillowball bushings. These are not included in jimlab's set anyway. Need to go Mazda replacements. Also make sure you jack and spare tire are securely fastened.
BTW, I don't think jimlab's set is a waste on the street. With cars approaching 100k miles, the bushings are going to start to be shot. I would definitely replace the bushings with his kit before going with new stock ones. Although putting the zerk fittings in and hitting them with the occasional grease gun will become neccessary.

My 18-pc. bushing kit is about half the cost of the equivalent parts from Mazdaspeed, by the way.

I have a full set of the AutoEXE bushings and motor mounts coming in soon, I'll be sure to post pics and my opinions. Im sure i'm going to go get them installed though, it does not sound like a project I could do myself. Not very precision, but needed tools, space and patience, of the three I have none

It was hard to translate but it is 18 pcs plus the motor mounts. Made of rubber, suspiciously similar to the Mazdaspeed pieces, although not as expensive. The info said 15-30% stiffer than factory bushings. The bushing set lists at $1078 and the mounts for ~250ish apiece. I know it does not include differential bushings, as I had to order the Border Racing pieces, and I'll probably have extra bushings, as the Border control arms and links come with bushings themselves.
