Built in radar detector

hey guys i have a question. i previously owned a 93 rx7 touring edition that came with a radar detector, it used a little switch that was located next to the fog lights switch on the middle console. turn the **** left for city, middle for off, and right for highway. since i've sold my rx7 some years ago and now i've been looking to get another lately i've noticed that there are a ton of rx7's out there and touring models, but none with that feature. was that ever an option with the touring models or just some aftermarket add on?

I've never seen an RX-7 with a built in radar detector, so I'm guessing that was an add-on of some sort. You could do the same with a little work, wouldn't really take much effort at all actually, just running extra wire where you needed it. Some detectors even come with remote mounting/integrated kits so that the detector isn't visible to law enforcement, since in some states they're illegal. I've played around with doing the same, only using a radar jammer instead since cops are using instant on a lot more lately.

I don't know of any radar jammer that has been proven to be at all effective as tested by an independent party. A lot of smoke but no substance. If you know of one please provide link.

These work amazing, I've driven by a dozen cops who have tried to gun me and they never can get a lock on (until Ive slowed down to the speed limit and turned it off) - you dont want them knowing you have a jammer or bad things can happen in many states

The radar detector I've been thinking of getting is called the Scorpion Ultimate. The thing that holds me back is the state and federal laws against these things, plus some owners have had reliability issues with them and can't get back in touch with the guy who sells them. Couple that with a Laser Interceptor, Click Here, and maybe a V1 and I think you'd be set as far as speed detection goes.
