budget Intercoolers FMIC / OEM IC + what size?

I'm building an RX-7 and I need to get it rolling asap . and for now funds are a little thin .

I bought a shell / engine . but I dont have an intercooler ..

my question is reguarding intercoolers , I read the whole intercooler link on the forum http://www.fd3s.net/intercoolers.html

right now I'm not looking to make crazy power.. the car will have water/ meth injection to help with cooling , the stock twins . and an aftermarket radiator .

But like I said I have NO intercooler at all .. I can get an OEM one ..

or a cheapbay FMIC .. if I went with the cheapbay IC what sizes would be good? on the intercooler link it says how bigger is better , but then doesnt that slow down spool ? , also what inlet sizes are good?

I'm not looking for BIG power at the top of the RPM range more like quick spool and power even at mid range of the RPMs so which intercooler would be a good compromise?

for $350 it is good, I will sell you my stock IC and piping for $100 and I am local. It worked well but I am going a different route. If there are parts you need let me know and you can come pick through all of my parts I have just recently pulled off.

wait is that 50 for the godspeed ? or 50 for the OEM ? .. if a FMIC will work better then the OEM and still be usefull if I do a couple of other mods I'd rather pay a bit more for one of those . I'm just trying to figure out the sizes tht would be good.

and if anything thanks I may hit you up for the stock one if i need to .!

Its stock for a pretty much stock car hem does just fine, for a street car fmic is fine too but most people prefer v-mount. I also have a pettit ecu unlimited i will be letting go. Good for if you want to stay pretty stock except you can do.bolt ons and boost and stay plug and play. I have intake and full exhaust boosting 12-14psi and felt great. Plan on going single and upgrade fuel so pfc time.

you could pick up a greddy fmic used for around 300-400 here, or you could get the goodspeed copy of the greddy for around 350 new, the only advantage of getting the goodspeed is that you will get all the brackets needed, sometimes when you buy a used greddy its usually missing brackets or hoses.

If your funds are thin right now, just get a stock intercooler to get it up and running then get whatever IC you like down the road.

what does your set up look like? how much room do you have. now see how much room is left, and buy one according to that size. If youre not concerned about making huge power, anything will be better than that tiny stock IC. BUT if you do do a smic, make sure to duct it and not heat soak it from the rad.
