BTW.. those that say MB is an ugly color

Have not seen it in person. Pictures do not do it justice. It is the most understated, elegant, and beautiful colors of all that were available stock. If you're considering buying an FD3, don't let others lead you astray. Go look at one in person. Look at it in different lighting conditions, you will be truly amazed.

Cheers.

I've seen up close and personal..I dont hate it..I just think of it as the least desirable...That's all. Want to give me a free MB FD..I wont refuse I'm not crazy about any of the colors actually. I have a silver and the metallic leaves something to be desired..
BMW ,VW,FERRARI,VIPER have much better metallics available...Have you ever seen the color of the helmets of the Tampa Bay Bucs...THAT IS THE **** I WANT ! Straight up

I have never heard anybody poo poo Montego Blue until Johnny

Just about everybody who has ever seen it (when clean!) has complimented the color. A good wax and some sunshine makes these cars just glow.

Hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion, right? Well, if you really consider it, montego blue is really the one color of all the stock ones that doesn't quite fit in with the rest. Black, red, yellow and silver are all very classic colors. Hell, even white is pretty classic (if a bit bland). MB is just so far from the "traditional" sports car colors that I think it is a bit whack. A dark blue would've been a better choice, IMO, or maybe even just a deep forest green.

Whatever, I don't like it, but that just means there's more MB FD's out there for those that do

i hate montego blue. it is seriously the ugliest color available for the FD, without the slightest doubt in my mind. i dont even know why they produced the FD in that color.

and YES, i have seen MB in person many times. its fugly.

I love the color (I own one), but it is definitely the most common color, and I think that many people hate to be common. It's all right though, as long as I am not around a white, black, silver, yellow, or red FD, I feel pretty uncommon.

If you want to talk fugly, how about stock warped bumpers. There is nothing more $.99 store than a warped bumper on a tricked out FD.

I have been graced enough to have a slightly newer bumper (Curtesy of the previous owner's poor parking abilities) which is somewhat straight but undoubtedly headed for warpage.

So, in that respect, I feel uncommon. Sweet.. My life is now complete. Beam me up!

what does that have to do with color. if you want to take it that way, then a VR with warped bumpers will look a lot better than an MB with warped bumpers.

whats your point??

The montego blue, in my opinion, sucks. It's almost like black. Red, yellow and silver are the colors for a FD, it's meant to be seen that way.

seriously, I dont think theres a single color that looks
"ugly" on an FD. sure i'm picky as hell about which one
i'd buy(thousands of $$ and the fact that you'll be drivin
the thing for years will do that to ya) but every color mazda
put out looks sick as ****, because these cars look
SICK AS ****!!

if they made a pink or purple or puke green one, then
MAYBE it'd look ugly. But even then it'd be a stretch.

Anyone who calls any stock FD color "fugly" is just a fool

no...anyone who calls a MB ugly has standards for what color a sports car should, and should not be.

ONLY colors for a true sports car: Red, Black, Silver, Yellow.

damn JOED you stereotype too much... i've noticed that

its riced if its a replica kit, its not a sports car if its not red or black...

anyway, i HATED montego until i saw it in person, and when its clean and waxed it looks awesome, especially in the light with shadows, its looks chameleon,

We forgot about one color: white. White is cool when there's body kits.

sorry to go off topic, but mightyslash is that your rex in ur sig? if so, it looks sweet as hell... I havent seen a montego blue fd where i live, but there's a black one about 25 parking spaces down from where i live (apartment community) and it looks good. But yea, most sports cars really look better in red, yellow, or silver and in some cases blue

ya, your right on the knockoff kit part...but i never narrowed it down to only black and red. yellow and silver are cool too! also, i hella like white FD's too! even though white is not a sporty color...still looks very nice on FDs.

ya..so the only color i hate is MB. i just think it is very ugly.

well, i'd have to say it's my least favorite color but it's not too bad when it's well maintained. actually what i think sucks about the montego blue the most is that it comes with the tan interior... i've seen a montego blue w/ the black interior swapped in and it didn't look too bad.

It was my least favorite as well........Well until I found the one I bought But it was the cleanest of the 5 Rx's I came across so I jumped on it. I'll take a nicely kept MB over a shitty looking R,B,S or yellow any day! Besides since Ive owned this car and detailed it, its grown on me. IMO, its the classiest color of the bunch.

I wouldnt go as far to say its ugly. Its not the color I would chose for an FD. Maybe a Camry but not an FD. Its too bland. Red is too boring on a sports car. Now Yellow and Black. Best colors. Even for Ferarri I think.

imho montego blue rocks....however, i can understand why you guys wouldn't like it or prefer it....most people like brighter colors (yellow, red, silver) that make the car flashier and stick out and amplify the rx's good looks. the montego blue color is a much more understated and low key which is the opposite of what most sports cars (and owners) want to be.

the one thing i can't is the people bashing montego blue rx-7's who've never seen it. they need to see one that's been well maintained with a fresh coat of wax that might change some minds. oh well, you can't win them all over.

Dont be so defensive MB owners...geez..be realistic.like I said I am not crazy for any of the colors..

MB - not a "sports car" color...plain and simple

Black - hides the lines of the FD..otherwise it's nice, but then I'm not crazy about flat blacks either. My Vw passat is Black Magic Pearl and it's awesome color.

RED - typical sports car color...but the mirrors and wing(if you have one) fade fast as hell...so does the bumper..

Yellow- another color that will fade..too bright for my taste..I've seen better yellow's before..seen worse too

Silver '- the metallic leaves alot to be desired..more of a dark titanium metallic grey would have been sweet.

White - nice but very very plain...need a body kit to look sweet

with that being said I still got a fd...2 of them in fact..why if I dislike the colors..you may ask....well I just love the car
