Brought her home tonight!
Hello everyone, im BlouZbee, 33 years old, and this is my very first night as a FD owner!! I keep going into the garage to make sure shes really there. im so excited.
I picked up a 93 silver rx7 from a family member whos husband past away, it was his car and from what i hear he took very good care of it. The odometer reads 79k but the motor and turbos only have 19k on them due to being replaced by mazda in 2001 along with the clutch setup and bunch of other stuff at the same time, the bill was almost 10k, yikes!. The fuel and air pump were also replaced at about 67k miles. The tires and battery are new also.
I have all of the service records...it seems the car was in a fender bender but judging by the work done it didnt seem to be too major. There is an aftermarket stero installed but other than that this thing is stock.
The ride home was pure pleasure, this is the fastest car i ever owned(owned a 04 rx8 for awhile and got addicted to rotary). From what i been reading it seems to be mechanically sound... step on the gas...lil bit of turbo lag... and o baby does it pull!! pulls hard in 3rd 4th or 5th. I was in stop and go traffic and some highway, trip was about an hour long and everything seems ok.
I plan on doing as much of the work myself as possible. This is a pure project/pleasure car, not my daily driver. I been reading the FAQ and related websites for weeks now. I hope i make a good owner. Here are some pics of my ride. BTW, i paid 10k even for her.

Welcome to the club! glad to see some older mature guys getting these cars. no offense to anyone!! but I think we appreciate these cars a little more and tend to retain the stock beauty rather than an all out street racer with body mods and riced out features. good luck and have fun with her

Not to thread jack but I resent the last comment by Jeff!! I'm 22 and I refuse to subject my FD to plastic surgery! I LOVE the natural beauty of these cars =) Especially the 99 spec look. And just so you know I've had my FD since I was 18 and have never touched the body except for some dent/ding repair and a minor fender bender.

Congrats and welcome! After engine cleaner, hit the whole engine compartment with CD-2 detail spray (no substitute or other detail spray). . .You'll think it just came off the showroom floor!
