Broken headers bolt in block

So as i was taking the stock exhaust manifold off, one of the bolts started unscrewing from the block. when i got it out i noticed that the end had broken off inside and the bolt had little thread shards from the block on it. the other three bolts are holding tight so there is not much of a leak. Any suggestions for what i might be able to do to fix this problem without having to pull the motor and get it redrilled? thanx

You should be able to pull the stock manifold off again, then tap and install a helicoil in the stripped hole.

Never heard of a helicoil. Where would i find one? i have an aftermarket manifold on now; would i be able to install a helicoil without taking the manifold off since there is more room to play with? thanx

Well the new manifold still covers the hole. If the hole in the manifold is at least 1/8" bigger, there may be enough room to do the tapping and install of the helicoil.

You might just want to take the car to an engine rebuilding shop and have them install it. Engine rebuilders have to do this stuff quite a lot. Another option the rebuilder might suggest is tapping to a larger (english) size, but I don't recommend this unless you can get super-high temp studs in that size too.

you can try a bolt extractor but those are always fun use.
