Unhappy Broken ECU? (pfc)

Hi all.

Last week my car just died while parking and I found out that the engine wiring was being cut by the driver side front tire. (I don't have that fender guard).

Long story short:
2 - 3 wires were nearly cut and shorted them self's. What I was able to figure out, the MAP sensor was the most affected.

With no MAP sensor connected, the PFC commander displayed a reading of 1.8bars (4.8volts. I got the apexi 3 bar sensor).... If I change back to the stock sensor (also changing the PFC PIM volt to "normal"), it displays ----- and sensor reads 0.3 volts.

My "electrical dude" says the signal is coming from the ECU itself... Could the pfc shorted out and only affected this?
I've searched and the Green/yellow (looks nearly Green/white on mine) should be the return signal from the MAP to the ECU right? With the sensor disconnected, it should read 0volts, correct?

Thanks.

I just tried it on my car - unplugged the MAP sensor.

Sensor check screen shows 4.85 volts with the value reverse-highlighted (which means a sensor problem) and the monitor screen showed 1.2 kg/cm2 of boost.

This is with the stock MAP sensor, BTW.

In general, the PowerFC is pretty hardy. Get your wiring figured out and see if you can get a good reading from the PFC for the MAP sensor.

Hey Dale.

With the Sensor disconnected or connected, it shows the same thing on my PFC.

With a multimeter, the pin-outs of the plug should be 5V 0V (Ground) and 0V. Right?
I'm getting 5V 0V and 4.8V. With either the PFC or the stock ECU pluged in (and with the car key turned ON)

Tomorrow I'm gonna get the wiring redone.

Unhappy

Ok. It's not the wireing.

Can any1 tell me what's the voltage on the powerfc with just the key turned on and with either the stock MAP or the apexi MAP sensor?

I find it hard to belive my luck if both of my sensors are dead.
My apexi 3bar reads 1.8bars / 4.80ish volts
My stock map reads ---- bars and 0.30volts.

I'm getting to the point where I hate the car more than love/enjoy.

edit: can a mod pls change the topic to "MAP Problem?!" pls?

Hello, I have the exact same problem. Did you managed to fix it?
Also can anyone confirm that the color coding of the stock wiring is like this?:
Brown/Black = Ground
Brown/white = 5V supply
Green/Yellow = ECU Signal

Thanks in advance

A blast from the past.

Yes I did. It was a faulty MAP. Had to get a new one.
Both the ones I had where faulty and as the new arrived and I plugged it in, everything worked great again.

Thank you so much. You give me hope! I thought that the PFC unit might be broken or something because the map sensor is brand new. But it is a cheap 30 euro sensor bought from ebay so...you can never be sure. Thanks again mate.
