In the states, the only way to get an entire new motor is to piece it together. Maybe there is another way out where you are at.

 

roughly how much is a reman 13b-rew from mazda? would it be warranted?

 

it's around $1500 i heard.. but that is just the bare motor.. no turbo's, no manifold... that you gotta buy separately... which is prob conv for some since they go with diff turbo setup's than stock.

It's about 2 grand, just the shortblock. There is an additional $1000 core charge, and it comes with a one year/12k mile warranty. Most remans have new rotor housings at a minimum, with lightly used irons, rotors and eshaft. For the price you can't go wrong (vs piecing it together new), considering all the additional "stuff" in the motor most people don't think about---rotor bearings, stationary gears and bearings, oil control orings and gaskets, apex/side/corner seals and springs, dowel pins, tension bolts, the list goes on

Nowhere . He heard wrong. Remans are usually at least 2 grand, sometimes more depending on which mazda dealership you call....

 

You cant get new engine for S6 or S7 series of FD, but you can buy NEW engine form S8 series, the latest series of FD, sold only in Japan. Friend of mine bought it. It was about $6500 with all the taxes, transportation, etc...

 

try contacting Zimax Japan. Superb people. Since ur in Taiwan it'll be easier for you. You dont need to ship in ur core. www.zimax.co.jp and ask for Yasuhiro otani.

You'll see the Zimax 7 in the Hyper Rev Vol.91. Plenty of ads there too.
