BOV Question (not about sound)

Alright Ive gotten mixed answers on this. Ive heard that the BOV should be as close to the turbo as possible. Then I heard it should be before the Inter Cooler. Then I see the Greddy Elbow with a BOV Flange for the Type S (which means AFTER the Intercooler). So where is the proper place?? Im lost?? Does it really matter? Cause I was really interested in the Greddy Elbow with the flange.

It should be as close to the throttle body as possible, because that is were the surge in pressure will first begin (when you take your foot off the gas and close the throttle body.

Garfinkle put his big bov on the throttle body elbow .He has the two stock ones with different springs inside mounted to the turbo air outlets .If he only had one it would be on the tb elbow .

It shouldn't matter where you put it since it's relieving the pressure as the throttle plates close and the turbo spins down. However, I've also placed my BOV's near the throttle body due to real estate. It's easier to place along the driver side of the engine bay rather than the passenger side where I route air intake.

IMHO, it probably doesn't make a whole lot of difference.
Sounds like you've got an interest in a part that will serve your purpose. Buy it and install it!

I am not sure of the right answer on that one. I wonder if Corky Bell discusses it in his book (the one widely considered the bible if you are working on a turbocharged vehicle)

Anyone have his book care to check.

Wow I didnt expect to get a mixed response =P

Anyways I'll probably just get the Greddy Elbow with the Flange for with Type S just for simplicities sake.

well if ur undecided do this. if you are running non-sequential twins, Cap off the y-pipe hole for the CRV, remove ur AWS, and put the CRV valve up off that hole on the elbow. Best of both principles!
