BOV mounting

Hey guys,

So, I've ran into a snag with my new Tial BOV. I can't find anyplace to put it...

I have an Apexi intake system, with everything stock after that. Other than the Y-pipe, I can't find any metal surfaces to weld the flange to. It's much to large to fit in the stock location, and as far as I can tell, everything else is plastic.

I don't really have the cash or time to get a new I/C set-up, but I plan on getting one in the next year or so, so getting new metal pipes for the stock I/C is kind of a waste right now.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

-Devan

You can get the HKS intercooler piping for the stock mount intercooler, which you can weld the BOV on there.

Weld it under the elbow pointing straight down - it's stealthy and there's plenty of room (on RHD cars anyhow). To get to the plugs and oil filter, you generally take the elbow off anyhow, so the location has been great for my Turbosmart stealth BOV.

As far as I can tell, isn't the stock elbow plastic? There's definitely plenty of room (mines RHD), and i was looking at putting it there, but I have no way of attaching it. Crazy glue? :P

Without aftermarket piping, the only way to mount it is in the stock BOV position, i'm guessing with an adaptor depending on bov. Or just wait?

haha, yeah.

Nice set-up though. It'd be ideal, I just can't afford a new I/C set-up right now....

What boost are you running, and what is wrong with your stock bov?

This sounds like its more than its worth, if you just want the BOV sound than you can vent your stocker to the atmosphere.
