BOV Instal Question

Im planning on buying and instaling a HKS SSQV on my R1 Rx-7 but i have some questions about it before i do anything. I know the car has a BOV in it already so what do you do when you put the HKS on. I know you can put it on the stock location but im thinkin of putting it on the IC pipe before the elbow on the GReddy system. Would i need to buy the Universal kit to do this?

Yes, buy the universal kit and the proper flange (probably aluminum in your case), and get it welded to a pipe as close to the TB as you can.

ok, i just looked inside the engine compartment and was looking. There is a TKT intake kit on my car. I didnt put this on, but it looks like it has 2 BOV's. They are comming from the Y pipe. These to tubes go to another one from underneath the intake manifold and then connect to a small intake. Is this all true. And about where to instal the BOV i really wouldnt care. In the stock position would be fine so would i buy the 93-95 Rx-7 Kit.

be careful, you may not be laughing too long

Also, as many will tell you, a BOV is not very high on the list of things to buy. The stock one works fine. Start with the 3rd gen FAQ at the top of this section of the forum.

find the hose that runs from your ABV to your airbox..disconnect that hose..take your new bov and place it where the ABV was..plug the opening to where that original hose went to..

job done

i bought a used kit and it came with steel braided line that connects to the stock location and a flange where the bov mounts to and the hose hooks on the the bottom of the flange. its very simple

well like the hose from the Y pipe goes up to the AVC right now. I am guessing that the HKS kit comes with an adapter w/ a flange that connects to the hose, right? Then you connect the lines and all that, right?
