Which BOV do u prefer and why?

I think that if you are keeping the stock twins then the stockers are good enough. I think what skunks meant by modifying the stock one is by disconnecting the stock bov from the airbox and letting it vent into the atmosphere so that there is a loud whooshing sound.

Experiment and you'll find something you like.
Good luck
P.S. If your running over 15psi, I do suggest you to get an aftermarket BOV.

i like the sound of the hks ss. i think the greddy crys too much and the blitz sounds damn good but i'd rather have the whine than the koosh. i've yet to hear the rfl bov or the apexi bov.

You can mod the stock bov to sound like any of the other types of bov's out there. By cutting slits in the tubing and other tricks, you can make it sound super high pitch, or a longer/lower/woooshy sound or what ever you want, the posibilitys are endless. You can also increase the sound output as well.
how exactly do you do this? i want mine to be loud and have a high pitched sound

tial is prolly the best out of the lot. very large in venting area. neat v-band attachment. make sure you get the correct spring otherwise you will end up with whub-whub surge noise.

Which spring is it that you need? The soft one right? Also, where do you get the Tial BOV from and what kind of sound does it have? More like the HKS SSQV or more like the Blitz? Any info you could give me 007007 would be greatly appreciated.
I have my stockers vented to atmosphere and they sound great. I'm gonna keep them until I get my BNR twins since I'll be running 17 or 18 psi non-seq I don't want to risk my stockers failing. So far my vote is for the HKS unit unless I can find out more about the Tial.

Jeff, I plan on using my stockers until I start boosting past their ability. I don't see the point in upgrading the BOV for sound only. We are in agreement about that. But I don't agree with trying to make them handle a 17 or 18 psi strain from a non-seq BNR setup. This thread wasn't started in the thoughts of changing the BOV to sound cool. Please have patience with people, especially if you aren't going to take the time to read the whole thread before you post. Thanx.

Yeah some people say I'm impatient. It is true, "my name is Jeff, and I'm impatient." Oh yeah, I'm having a beer too.
I did read the whole thread thank you.
The aftermarket would hardly support all these BOVs if people bought them for cars that REALLY needed them because the stocker wasn't effective anymore.

If you buy a BOV for the sound you also probably have a big ugly subwoofer inside and turn it up at stoplights. Trust me, 99.9% of people think "yeah buddy, your really cool".

Shoulda spent the $$ getting your PFC tuned. Spend the $$ on a PFC, don't tune it, buy a nice sounding BOV?
Thanks helping me make my point.

i don't find anything wrong with buying a bov because you want it to sound nice. i only find it wrong when you are in a parking lot and you have to sound it every 3 sec. thats when i want to pop some ones hood and rip it off until they learn to drive nice and respect others ears. sure the stocker bov can due. but if you have that additude why get the rx7. a chevette or an omni do the driving job. there's no need in getting a bad *** car when a slow normal car does the trick getting from point a to point b. sometimes we all just need to spoil ourselfs

BTW: The best bov's are the largest types which can let out the most air asap... which are also the softest (well seems to be).

Skunks, you never did let us in on the secret to modifying the stock BOV's to alter the sound other than venting to atmosphere! Would you be so kind as to let us all in on that? Because like I mentioned a couple of times earlier I don't plan on upgrading BOV's until I actually NEED to. Thanx in advance.
Zach
P.S. Jeff, I wasn't trying to get rude, I just don't want this to turn into one of the millions of flame threads that exist in this forum. And I do agree that JuanCM should get his boost problem fixed and/or PFC tuned before upgrade the little things like BOV's and such. Also, just an interesting side note... I lost weight in my FD by doing the stereo work. I went from the 12lbs. Acoustimass system in the hatch to a 4.5lbs. JL Audio MicroSub and amp combo as well as shaving weight by taking out the amplified Bose door speakers and the double din stock unit out of the dash replacing it with a single din Alpine unit and lightweight, thin mount JL Audio coaxials in the doors. It is not only lighter, but sounds sooooo much better than the stock. It's not ungodly loud, but has deadly accurate sound quality. It's just funny to me that I could actually put a system in my FD that I wanted and still lose 10 to 11lbs. from stock weight. Laterz.
