Bose woes. Need to borrow a head unit.
I am having issues with the Bose system cutting out and I would like to keep the system. I have inspected the speakers and find nothing wrong physically with them so I want to see if it is an issue with the circuitry in the head unit. Does anyone have a head unit they know works that I could borrow? It would be greatly appreciated!

I've always heard the individual speaker amps are the failure points in the Bose system, not sure if it's broken solder joints or what.
I'd start by looking at the amps before the head unit.

My bose system is failing too. I'm just going to bite the bullet and get a decent head unit with aux in/ipod controls, red lighting, and put some 6.5" speakers in the doors. Problem solved and weight saved.
You can repair the amps with new caps... but why? The bose sounds like crap even when it works right.

Oh, I misunderstood. You know what the say about used parts, though. They can be just as screwed up as the one you pulled out.

I apparently haven't heard a bose system that works, but I have heard that it doesn't sound bad actually...hmm...what do you mean replace with new caps?
