Is boosting 7psi bad?

whell i mean i installed a boost controller and was wondering if i had it off and was boosting 7 psi normal driving and lets say i went wot at 7 would that b bad for the car in anyway or turbos?

well you need to clarify, is this on stock seq. twins?


other than I guess running a bit rich since you should be at a higher boost.

No. The ecu has a map based on rpm and boost level.


You are getting 7 psi because the wastegate is allowed to open at it's actuator pressure (7 psi). This certainly won't hurt anything!

ok thanks thats all i needed to know because when i went wot at 7psi it seemed the engin was really try to goo but wasnt going as fast as when i turn the controller on,,, i leave it off when normal driving and turn it on when i want some fun.. yes i hav stock seq.. i dont have many mods so i dont think running to rich or lean should b a problem

Well yeah... the car is going to be slower at 7psi than 10psi. lol

First time I took my car to the track I set it to run 7 psi just because I wanted to take it easy on her and make sure everything was running good. It's certainly safer to beat on it at lower boost than higher boost because slight issues with tuning won't manifest themselves as a blown motor
