Boost psi not affecting HP? (Rikki-Jethro dilemma)
Ok, what is the hard truth on the boost psi affecting (or not affecting, as Jethro said) HP numbers.
How can Jethro increase his boost, and affect only his torque and not his HP.
Someone please explain this, because it seems like alot of you are skipping over it in the main thread and I don't get it. Does his boost gauge not work? Does PFS's dyno not work (records torque *gains* while the HP stays the same).
Here's what I've thought of as normal boost increases relative to hp gains Green= 12psi Red=13psi Blue=14psi (But if this were Jethro's car on PFS's dyno then we are to beleive that all 3 of these graphs would be the same?):

There IS no explanation. Since he's non-sequential, all torque gains are going to show up mostly above 4000 rpm. At that point, you gain ~0.8 hp/1.0 lb-ft of torque. So, if he increased torque by 10 lb-ft at 4000 rpm, hp at that rpm should have gone up by 8. Regardless of whether or not the peak hp changed (which I can't believe, you're telling me the torque increased down low but fell off to same number as lower psi in the higher rpms? right), how can tuning the car for 11 psi be the "sweet spot". Even if the peak didn't increase, the powerband would still be better at more psi. The whole thing doesn't make sense.
The only way this will be resolved is an independent dyno run at a few different psi settings. WITH a wideband and pump gas.
