Boost Problems... :(

I'm pretty sure i'm leaking mad boost... when i start at 35 in 3rd gear and gas it, i only get 2-3lbs of boost. once i get to 4500rpms, it jumps up to 7-7.5lbs of boost. my boost gauge is in bars and i'm doing the conversions in my head so the numbers could be slightly off. i plan on taking my car in to get the vacuum hoses replaced. is there anything else i can check before i rebuild/replace my turbos? my motor has 45000 miles on it and the turbos have about 93000 miles on them so i'm sure they will need to be fixed soon... i just wanna squeeze a few more months out of them til i graduate and get a real job.

check the gasket between the plenum and throttle body because some models have plastic ones that become brittle and fall apart. now mazda has metal ones...

also check the coupler that comes from the y-pipe above the primary turbo.(its the pipe that goes to the intercooler from the bottom). that tends to split and crack at odd places. it might need replaced with a ifini y-pipe if thats where the leak it comming from

I recently had a blown hose also. It was the one coming out of the IC and going down. I'm not sure whats its called but just feel if theres a hole or rip. The same goes for any other hoses. You could ask someone to rev the car and you listen to see if you can hear any leaks.

Remove every flexible coupler from the car and inspect them thoroughly for tears slits or leaks.
