boost prob. did search
Im trying to track down this beast of a boost problem... all the vac hoses have been changed and even a couple solenoids that were busted, and it worked fine for couple of months or more, but now its back to the same funky idle sometimes, and the 10-5-9 boost pattern. all the hoses are new and tiewrapped, I did a search, and I have narrowed it down to:
A) a cracked y-pipe coupler?
B) another bad solenoid?
C) leaky/bad intake manifold gasket?
for C) could it be the upper or lower IM? and how do you recommend I check all of these things? my mechanic skills are limited to oil changes, plugs and plug wires, so any tips would be helpful.
I guess it could still be a boost leak, but I doubt it. I did check all visible vac lines, but I am scared to venture to the solenoid rack under the UIM.
just for reference, with the mods below in my sig, on the transition the boost gauge would read 11-9-13 then fall off to 11, but now on the transition it doesnt even spike to 10 most of the time. 10-5-9
