boost issues
boost issues
To make a long story short my replacement turbos were crap but in the process of changing old to new and then back to old I found several vaccum leaks. Vaccum leaks fixed and car back together I'm not getting the boost reading I got before. Before I started this project I read about 10 and now probably about 7 and my boost gauge is whining when I boost up. God my car is bitchy, any advice?

Here's the deal, my vaccum lines have all been changed out before to silicon. I changed a couple of them and put them back exactly as before. If something was on a line then it stayed there. The only reason I'm not 100% is because my boost gauge didn't make noise before I started and I had more boost, so I must have done something wrong.
What year is your FD? My understanding is that 94's and 95's had the pills incorporated in the nipples on those years. (3's had little pills in the vacuum lines themselves.

Could pills cause only 4psi? Cause I just switched out my lines and the last problem is 4psi. I dont know if this was from the line job or something else due to the problems prior....going to check the clips when I get a chance as well.
Well, I checked the old lines and as I thought, no pills, no leaks from the intercooler couplers or at all that I can find and still only getting like 7psi. Could this be caused by mixing up the lines to the turbo setup? I've got the diagram for stock lines but it didn't help much since when I took it apart the first time my lines were different than the stock setup. I've got an electronic blitz boost controller hooked up so maybe that's why the lines are different. Here's how my lines on the turbos are as of now, tell me if this sounds wrong: boost control to nipple 1, boost control to primary turbo vaccum pod, nipple 2 to secondary turbo vaccum pod, both nipples on bottom side of vaccum pods are plugged and the lines that ran to them before are looped to each other. Like I said I am 99.5% sure this is the way they were. The only thing I could have messed up on is the line that is looped. Hopefully someone can understand this confusion.
Ok, sorry I'm just really dumb. I've been doing so much searching and reading that I have a headache. Pay no mind to my last couple of replies. My lines are setup correctly, I found that much out. Not to mention I sounded like a complete *** calling things my own made up names, lol. So here's the question, if all my lines are correct and all my solenoids and actuators and blah blah blah etc etc were working correctly before and i was getting 10psi why is it 7psi now? Could it have been the broken lines I fixed making me get 10 and now that they are fixed I'm getting 7 b/c that's what the boost control is set at when my blitz unit is powered off? I don't know ppl, someone plz help me understand this stuff.
