Question Boost guage install help!

Having trouble finding which vacuum hose to hook a boost guage to. When I tried to hook it up to the little nipple on the left side of the intake, the only reading that i was only getting a vacuum reading on the guage.

Anyone know where to hook the guage hose to under the hood??

Thanks
Greg

you suppose to get vacuum reading during idle, you have to boost to get boost readings.......most people connect the gauge the same way you do, which is using the nipple on the UIM

Put a 'T' connecter in the line going to the MAP sensor and run a hose off that.

You wont get much if any boost if the car is not moving. I thought the same thing at first too. But after a quick drive, the boost reads just fine.

If you buy a gauge that only has pressure then you'll get what you were expecting: 0 at idle and slow driving, and up to 10 when you slam on the gas.

It's better he has one that reads vac and boost, for trouble shooting purposes. Sounds like he just needs to be educated He picked the right car if he wants a good old baptism by fire.
