Question Boost Gauge Problems

I remember a few months back there was a thread about boost gauges that did not sit @ 0 when the car was off. I'm searching for this because I'm having problems with my Defi Boost Gauge. I've had 2 gauges that sit at 5psi and says I'm boosting 15-16psi.. My car is stock, with the exception of a downpipe and intake, so I know this gauge is incorrect.

I've tried a search, but came up empty handed. If someone could point me in the right direction or post similar problems you're experiencing, it might help the folks @ RX7Store.net address this issue to Defi.

RX7Store.net has been very helpful and is actually contacting Defi to pin point this problem.

Thanks

I am wondering the same thing.

My autometer gauge is old and stupid, but reads slightly above 0 when the car is off.

I have a digital boost gauge too, and they both read ~10-8-10 boost pattern which is good.

I plan on getting a Defi soon

Why you're boost gauge doesn't read "0" when car is off:

Hmm.. So basically no matter if Defi keeps sending me new gauges, they'll always read 5psi? I should have gotten another VDO.

I would expect 5 psi to be a problem with the gauge or the sender (if the gauge is electronic). A plain mechanical gauge should vary by less than 1 psi.

The 1st boost gauge I bought went to 5psi after 10 minutes.. i returned it to RX7store.net and they sent me another one.. Same thing happened. I'm starting to think they took apart the 1st one and thought they fixed it, but didn't.
