WI boost creep question

Just installed my pettit intake on my 93 and took it just around the block, I already have a downpipe, catback, and a walbro fuel pump. After the downpipe and catback I didn't notice much for boost creep except on the highway when you go WOT in a low gear I would hit maybe 13psi, but...now with the intake I'm hitting 15psi in all gears, which I know is deffinatly not safe. In one of the coming weekends I'm going to be doing a lower intake manifold gasket, my question is when I have the turbos off, if I do a wastegate port will this take care of my problem or will I need a boost controller to fully cure it if I want to leave the intake on? Thanks for any input, Kyle

It could be just boost spikes, I didn't stay on the throttle long enough to find out if boost dropped back to 10. As far as air fuel...I'm sure its not good with that kinda psi which is why I'm not driving the car till its corrected. I would assume porting the wastegate would help with the spikes as well?

you could just take out the intake and enjoy the trouble-free [ish] driving

I already did take out the intake, I guess I was more just wondering at this point what people do to address any boost spikes or creep, and how much does porting the wastegate help

It's in the stickys, but in short...SPIKE results from opening the INTAKE side of things. And a boost controller can help. CREEP results from opening the exhaust side of things. And a boost controller won't help. I think CREEP typically appears when installing a midpipe with a DP and free-flowing cat-back. Usually just leaving in a cat (even a hi-flow cat) will avoid CREEP issues.

From your description, the high boost appeared after opening the intake, hence Mahjik's questioning if it was really SPIKE you were seeing. If you still have a cat, I suspect that it's SPIKE too and you may just need a boost controller.
Regardless, if your going to have the turbos off anyway for the LIM gasket, I don't think it wouldn't hurt anything to port the WG.

I drilled my WG pill to drop the boost. Cheaper than a boost controller, nothing to install, nothing to add to your interior, seems foolproof. I guess if you're hitting 15 on the primary that could be an issue. I max out around 11 on the primary and from what I've been told that is okay because fuel volume is not an issue at the rpm.
