Boost Creep to 15psi on cold day
Took the car out last nite in the evening.
My mods are Intake, DP, Cat Back...
If i stayed on the gas through the secondary turbo transition it would boost up to 15psi, and I could hear a whistling sound after a few hard pulls comming from the engine sounds like a leak of some sort (this has happend to me before) ...
After the car creeps to 15psi it seems like the primary turbo shuts off in the lower gears afterwards. This has happend to me before, the problem does stay for a few weeks and all of a sudden the primary turbo will work fine again ...
Is something stuck open? like an actuator? I dont beleieve any hoses are poping off because the problem seems to clear it self up over time.... very strange
On another note.. If i put a manual boost controller in, would this have any benefit for me ? Any write ups of how this can be added to the stock system?
On a hot day the car does not experience this type of boost creep.
I guess I should look at getting an aftermarket ECU.

Yea, get a PFC, and a elec boost controller, you can find them cheap in the 3rd gen FS section. I would say maybe its the vacuum chamber has a crack in it. And its letting out pressure, so thats why the second turbo isnt coming on all the time. Those are cheap, and easy to replace.

I think boost creeps on cold days are normal. No matter what you do.
I have a manual boost controller with non seq twins. All bolt ons minus midpipe as i still have the stock cat (yes i know with non seq) and i still get creeps to 13psi in the cold weather.
Theres really nothing i can do to stop it. When i have to accelerate, it does it automatically, otherwise ill get left behind because my car has no low end torque. I need to boost to get past people.
I didnt have any problems with the creep.

sounds like a bad charge control actuator to me. i'll have to check my "boost related" problem links i have saved when i get home tomorrow. but if i remember right, when the actuator is going bad, or has gone bad, the boost spikes at wot to 15psi.
it could though like many have said, just be boost creep. cold weather's a bitch
