which boost controller...?

well i have searched for a while and still cant decide. i am looking into getting a nice electronic bc. i had a profec b that didnt work at all, but it gave me much better responce then my manual bc. so i am stuck between the profec b spec 2 , profec type s, and the blitz dsbc spec s. which is better for responce , etc.. i like the look of the spec 2 , but i would like to know ups and downs for each. thanks in advance.

The Profec S is simply the B without the screen for the same price. I'd get the B. I haven't heard much about Blitz's latest boost controllers, but historically they've been pretty good.

Profec Type-S by far

The "new" Type S is essentially the old style Profec B, which is an easy to use, reliable, and effective EBC. MANY people have had problems with the new Profec B Spec II.

I've got the same thing as ^^^^^, mounted it on the frame rail next to my airbox. Easy to set up and use, never had a problem.

I mounted the SOLINOID next to the airbox, NOT the controller - it's in my glovebox!

I love my spec 2.
Easy to tune, reads boost acurately and in real time, displays last boost, and highest boost ever hit (that is until you reset it).

i like the spec 2 because of the boost readings etc. but the profec spec s is nice because its easy to use and is the same as the old profec b. one thing i read on rx7store.net is that the spec s has extra fast responce , how is that? it doesnt really explain much about the solenoid design. heres a link.

Do you have pics of the controller mounted in your glovebox?

Has anyone tried the HKS EVC V? I've got one sitting on my desk and waiting to go in-- though I can always sell it and get a GReddy Spec 2.

Not quite. The profec B spec 1, yes. The profec B spec 2 has fuzzy logic which the type S does not.
