Boost at 12-13psi Should I be worried.
I noticed today that my boost had been hitting 12-13psi. My mods are K&N Filter in stock Airbox , 3" CB. Should I be worried about this.
I think you should begin to get a little worried. I've got a CB and nothing else and don't go much beyond 11 psi. Not sure how you're managing 12-13 with just that..the air filter shouldn't have that much impact.
Replacing the stock airbox with a intake might have more impact.

I'm in the same situation. Waiting till Christmas to get myself a new computer. I just keep a close eye on my boost guage at WOT. If I were you I'd get a dp, and a new ECU if you got the $. Otherwise just keep an eye on the boost pressure. We're both at the point where the stock ECU starts becoming obsolete.

**** man I must be a lucky ****. I'ame getting a steady 11 psi with a drop to 7 psi at redline(i think thats what its supposed to do) with a full exhuast. SS DP, gutted main cat, and a greddy sp. Stock intake though. I bet if I throw on an intake I'll spike like a ****!!! I'am still in aww of the rock solid 10-11 psi I get. =)
I had and still have this problem. I also thought that a new ECU would help but I still the problem. Its at the transition from 1-2 turbo. It spikes to about 13 psi.
The new ecu uses all stock stuff. Its the wastegate that sucks. You could either go non-seq which will eliminate the spike or try to controll it.
I am getting the greddy profec B boost controller I heard that since it uses its own seloniod that its 1000x's better at controlling boost.
You could also do the home depot special which you can find out how some where on the forum.

If you don't have the cash for a new ECU, just install a Home Depot Boost Controller and keep the boost down to 10 psi. Here's the how-to instructions:

It should only cost $20-30 bucks.

Thats what boost spike is when the boost rises above what you have it set to then falls back down.
I am pretty sure that the boost is suppost to fall before redline I know mine does it. Someone correct me if I am wrong
Boost creep is when your boost rises and keeps rising which no boost controller can help with.

I do have a profec-b so that can be it. But the wastegate can only let out so much air, so I'am wondering why is it steady at 10-11 psi on a full straight through stinky exhaust?
My car has FMIC, full exhaust, intake, ecu, and i run a solid 10-11psi through the entire power band.
I highly suggest you get play with the boost pills, make your own, or use the home depot valve. I use a home depot valve for my wastegate and i made my own boost pill for the pre-control for zero dip/spike.
In reality, anything higher than 11psi on a stock ECU is really cutting it close. If you were to drive on that boost on a nice crisp morning......

how do I play with the boost pills? I am having serious problems with spikes. I hit like 14 after secondary comes in. It is really worrying me. I put a manual boost controller and it does a really quick spike to 14-15 but falls imediately back to 10..also where is that one thread where the person did the needle vavle thing and had the huge pictures? thanks

Here are Kahrens install pictures:
This is the stock setup:
This is how Kahren ran the pipes
This is the finished picture, the valves are on the solenoid side of the actuators venting to atmosphere
