Body Parts Needed

New Years Day saw some drizzle in NJ…. Unfortunately, I drove my 7 to my brother-in-laws house to help him out. On the return trip home the skies really opened up. I hit a pool of standing water at a highway off ramp and found out why FD’s make crappy Ski-do’s . I hydroplanned into a clock-wise spin and no amount of understeer was gonna stop it. DOOM ON ME! So, Crash Damage was mainly to the left front fender, bumper and hood… The right fender caught some battle damage as well …. Under-tray is toast and headlight covers were popped off. Left head light is messed up…. Right’s condition in unknown… as are the oil coolers. Anyway, I’ll post a laundry list of needed parts this Thursday. Any help from folks out there who went with aftermarket and want to get rid of their stock parts can either PM me or drop me an E-Mail @ kraken@bellatlantic.net BTW my car is a 93 R-1, Red Thanks. Insurance = totaled. With that many parts touched if you turn it into insurance it will most likely be totaled.

Otherwise you'd be best off finding a complete front end.

Cars not total loss... Ins adjuster's allowing up to $9K for repairs... and body shop is working w/me on the parts end. So, any parts deals I find should help... The upside is I'll have a new paint job... gets rid of the dings and chips ect...

Cool it isn't totalled but it isn't far from it. Becareful with the insurance guy.

Insurance companies usually total the car if the damage exceed 75% of the value of the vehicle.

Later,
Jeff

Thanks for the advice Jeff. My insurance Co. is going to 80% of FMV (Fair Mkt Value)... So, as long as I stay within their $9000 threshold I'm good.

Here's some pics of my FD in the body shop. http://members.bellatlantic.net/~karken/dadsrx7.htm
As you can see I need a rear bumper and at least one rim for the left drivers side rear... Haven't gotten the news on the suspension yet but the engine undertray also needs replacement. E-mail me at <karken@bellatlantic.net> Or PM me or call 973-906-4099 on parts you have available. Thanks man, Rich

Cool

Well.... I found a good used rear bumper for $150. in PA and picked it up yesterday… Thanks Jack... I dropped it off at Costas Body Shop today. While there, the nose/front clip arrived and it looks perfect. It came from a touring model and has a block-off plate where my passenger-side oil cooler should be. It also has the stock OEM Mazda driving lights… Cool, I plan to hook those up. Tony, the shop owner said that, swapping in my oil coolers, both sides, would pose no problem. Also, this nose is the same color red as my FD and is totally strait. Kevin was able to get me 2 good rims as well. So, My beast will be up next on the frame machine either Monday or Tuesday and then the work begins. I plan to post update photos as the repairs progress and will include that link in a future posting. Thanks, to all those who PM'd me with the offer of parts and help. I really appreciate it. :
