It all depends on your budget. Getting a used motor can be a crap shoot. You won't know what you have until its installed. However, if you don't have a local rebuilder, getting your engine rebuilt could be a hassle.

If you have the money, it's always better to have your engine rebuilt by a competent shop.

IMO buying a used motor is never a good plan. I have known way too many people who picked up "like new low mileage" motors that ended up being worse piles of crap than what they were pulling out of the car. Get a rebuild, its the only way to go.

I wish more people would see it that way, they tell me they can get jspecs for X amount and I just tell them have fun rolling the dice. You never know what you are getting until it is too late.

Do some good research about what you want of of your car and what people running there cars that way have done to achieve that goal, After that spend the money and take your time, yes a all new block can be pricey and getting all the supporting mods can be to but I believe in our cars it cost you more going through used or cheaply built core after core then biting the bullet and doing it right once and enjoying seat time.

What makes you think your motor is blown?
Have you gotten a compression test?
What makes you think the rotor is damaged?

Rotaries are often diagnosed as blown incorrectly. Compression test is the only determinant. If you haven't gotten one, then you don't know that its blown.
