Generally the ladies prefer it hard, but if you have trouble getting it from soft to hard you may wanna try some viagra.

TURN OFF YOUR CAPS LOCK!

I don't know the answer to your question, but I doubt if either setting would have an immediate effect of wrecking anything. I would start soft and then only switch to hard if the BOV was leaking boost. How much boost are you running?

OK, if it's soft it releases pressure earlier. If it's hard it holds pressure longer...

Back the screw on the greddy all the way to soft, slowly turn it to hard as you pull the accelerator throttle in the engine and listen for the blow off, you should only need to tighten the greddy a little bit if you are running stock boost. When I got mine I put it on and just listened, if you rev the engine and it does not blow off it is set too tight and will not work, back it off so that when you rev the engine it will blowoff correctly, but not loose enough so that the valve stays open. Hope that helps-B

When you shift if you are hearing 'cha-cha-cha-cha' sound from the bov you may need to loosen it, compressor surge is not a good thing.

What about for the HKS Super Sequential? I tightened mine all the way down, so it would be loudest. That's what I heard anyway. I'm sure it's safe because it will still blow-off even at about 0-1 psi. There's no compressor surge or anything that I can hear.

He's right. You should hear a smooth pssshhh vs. cha-cha-cha sound.

The BOV is relieving the boost pressure in the intake tract when the throttle plates slam shut (when you lift). If the BOV is chattering then it is allowing to much boost pressure to be built up before it relieving it. The whole point of the BOV is to stop the pressure wave that can and will build up when the throttle slams shut on a shift, etc. It also helps keep the turbo(s) spooled between shifts. Set the BOV on hard and the turbo will slow down very quickly giving more lag between shifts.

Seriously, stop typing in caps because if you don't people are going to get on your case about it everytime you post a thread. Typing in caps is a good way to emphasize something you are writing so others reading it 'get it', almost like underlining. Typing the whole thing in caps makes it seem like you are yelling and makes for an annoying read.. would you turn in a term paper typed in all caps?

OK I've seen enough of your posts that I'm going to say something that might help you understand.

Stop with the two-sided presentation of yourself. If someone barely gets on your case about something you unleash a flurry of insults and then ask people to leave you alone. That's not an intelligent way to go about achieving coexistence.

Along those same lines is an example from this thread. You told JONSKI to "GROW UP!!!!" (****, I think I missed some exclamation marks) in reference to his caps lock picture, yet later in this same thread you're insulting someone who suggested you spend $8 on a new keyboard and saying he obviously hasn't fucked his wife or mom lately. That's not very grown up behavior, nevermind your [sarcasm]mature[/sarcasm] use of "u", "yur", "diks", and addressing the gentlemen as "M.***."

Sometimes you seem like an appreciative normal human being and other times you seem like a pushy angry Marshall Mathers. You pulled a serious Jekyll & Hyde in another thread that has since been closed where in one post you caps locked your way into this juvenile outburst:

... and you followed up that post with action suggesting some maturity and normalcy:

That behavior is pretty alarming to me.

I want to remind you that we don't owe you anything (but some of us might be able to help you with your grammar).

Like I said, I'm trying to help you act normally here. I like to help decent people with their car problems when I can.
