Question blitz turbo timer

I recently purchased a blitz dual turbo timer DCII w/ boost guage built in.It reads in KPa. I was wondering if anyone could help me. I would like to know what the conversion formula to psi is. And could anyone tell me what the a-b switch on the control box is for? (the directions for it suck)! It makes no mention of the switch what so ever! thanks for your help!

Here's a conversion i found..

1 atm = 101.325 kPa = 14.7 psi = 1.0132 bars

I added others in case..

also, i wouldn't trust the reading from the blitz TT boost gauge. I think an actual boost gauge coming from the manifold is better. the blitz TT uses a signal it gets from the ECU. FYI, everyone with a PFC or PFS purple box sees differences from what the computer says to what the boost gauge says.

thanks for the conversion! And yes it does screw up the factory alarm! and lastly the one that I have does hook up to the manifold just like a normal boost guage. Vacuum line and all. I'm still not sure how acurate it is though. My boost runs....77kpa-.59kpa-.65kpa doing the 3rd gear roll on. Does that sound ok?

In what way does it screw up the alarm? And is there anyway to fix it or does it just not work when the timer is enabled.

Also where did you get the timer? How much$$.00? I have the harness but still waiting for timer. Summit says delivery scheduled for Oct 02

I think Blitz dual timer even though is in Kpa, you multiply the reading by 14.7 to get psi reading.

so 0.69 x 14.7 = rougly 10psi, so your boost sounds about right.

I always thought Summit has huge inventories, Oct delivery is insane! You can try the store to see if they have stock, if not I know Phase 2 Motortrend has stock, last time I went there they have most Blitz inventories out of everything.

Regarding the stock alarm, check out this page on making the turbo timer work with it:

http://www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobi...turbotimer.htm

It took a little work at some very awkward angles, but it worked out fine for me.

powermalex, I think that it was SPD Wholeale and Distribution. I will check it out as soon as possible. They got it to me within a week if I remember correctly. It wasn't long I know. I'll find out for sure and get you that number. The guy I talked to his name is Nick. He has a fd also. He may be on this forum I don't know but he was a nice guy. Anyways I'll get the number to you as soon as possible.

you guys should bookmark this site: www.onlineconversion.com, it's great

77, 59, 65 kPa = 11-8.5-9.5 psi

The 9.5 is a little low, but could be fine.

powermalex, It was SPD. The number is 1-866-SPD-RACE on the west coast and 1-866-SPD-RACR on the east. The item number for the turbo timer is 0 BLIZ-14289 I got mine in black. It was $125.80 I hope this helps. If you do get it, and you figure out what the a-b switch on the reciver box(?) is for please let me know

Any consensus on whether the blitz boost gauge is worthwhile? I'd much rather replace my current turbo timer with this than have a funny looking analog gauge sitting behind the steering wheel...

Jayk, I wii have to get a guage to compare it to, but it seems to be reading like it should. according to the conversion my car is boosting 11.3-8-9.5. Which I'm told is just about right. I'm running completely stock (temporarly (sp) ) . I'll try to get a pic of it up soon. I have mine on the steering colunm now and it looks preety good. It does have a green back light which I'm not too happy with. But, it will have to do until I can figure out how to chance it.

Thanks for the info. Did it come with all the necessary vacuum line or did you have to buy separate parts?

I...

have it. for like a year now. works PERFECT. BOOST reads fine. and yes, as long as it stays around .65+ then boost is correct around 10psi. mines sometimes spike to about .75 but not all the time. as for the vacuum lines, it comes with the kit.

as far as the alarm messing up, the harness sets it up so that eventhough the car is still running, the alarm will still arm itself.

Btitz Timer

Dragueur

When the timer is engaged are the fans running at full speed. If not is there a way to set it up that during the 10 min cycle they run and not dependent on thermo switch?

that's strange, because my manual doesn't mention it once. I looked through it several times. It did come with a manual written in Japanese and I can read all languages except greek, and that looks greek to me! Anyway if you can find out what it's for let me know... thanks!

Just Got my Blitz TT

Froggy
Where did you mount your display? PICS?
Also how do you like it so far?
Did you notice if the fans go on high when you start timer?
I can't see much purpose for Timer if the fans are not on.
