Blitz SBC Spec-R Install

I need to know how to plumb Blitz SBC Spec-R. I know there is a diagram out there someone made but I can't seem to find the thread.

Thanks

Here is a picture of the wastegate and pre-control actuators. I need to know where to hook up the vacuum lines to the new solenoid (IN and OUT). I found the version 1 and 2 diagram but I'm still confused. I really need help, I don't want to screw this up.

Thanks

I think I have it right, just want to check. I hooked up the lines and disconnected and capped off the two nipples before and after the wastegate solenoid. Does that sound right? Here is a picture of the routing of the lines.

Just hook up the power and ground. Just run the power to the accessory in the ignition and just ground the wire to the chasis.

I'll give that a shot, what color is the wire? I have also read about hooking it up to the cigarette lighter, can I get to those wires without taking apart the dash?

I can't remember what color the wire is. Just take apart the lower part of the dash, under the steering wheel and it will expose all of the wires. I don't know if you want to use the cigarette lighter wiring. It might pop a fuse if the lighter is used.

I have mine set up using Version 2. It works perfectly and never had trouble with it.

Yes I have tried a few different ways but this turned out to be the best for me.

Here's a photo I took of mine whilst the engine was out of the car.

Thanks for the replies, I'll give wiring it up a shot tomorrow.

YOUWSH, I think I'm gonna leave it as for now since I just finished get everything back together. That picture was exactly what I was looking for so thanks, I'll give version 2 a shot if I'm not happy with version 1 (from what I've been reading about the problems with version 1 that may happen soon).

Thanks

Just looking at your original pic at the top of the thread. Seems you are only controlling a single actuator.

Cant' recall if the pre-spool or the wastegate is the top one you have plumbed into but your going to have either control on the 1st turbo via the pre-spool which acts as a 1st turbo wastegate or you are going to have boost control on the 2nd turbo & standard boost on 1st turbo until the main actuator opens the 2nd turbo.

If you want to control boost on 1st + 2nd turbo then you will need to plumb into both actuators.

I thought that I just needed to plumb the solenoid to the wastegate actuator.

The boost controller only controls the wastegate. I don't know how your going to control both turbos with one boost controller. One of the actuators is a wastegate and the other is the pre-control for the secondary turbo.

I took is out for a test drive and the car is only making 6.5-7 pounds of boost. Any suggestions?

Ya turn up your boost controller. Keep turning it up until your boost goes up.

Here is a thread back when I had my twins about installing the blitz boost controller. Hopefully it will help you out:

It took me a good 3 months to get my boost controller to work. The reason why? I had a boost leak to begin with and luckily it was only 1 broken check valve.

What this meant was that regardless of what I set the boost controller to the car will still overboost.

If you were running perfect 10-8-10 before this then it may only be your settings.

1) Start with boost cut setting. I think mine is like .84 bars with a -5 ratio which means that if the car did boost to 0.84 bars then it will hit the limit and go back down to .79 bars, i.e 0.84 - 0.5 = 0.79.

2) My set is 20 which gives me about .75 bars, and 25 would give me close to .84 bars. Again this all depends on your mods as well as which version setting your using. You've got 4 channels so obviously I have mine sets in increments, i.e channel 1 = '20', channel 2 = '23', etc. This feature is very useful as you experiment with the settings as its just a simple matter of turning the **** without having to pull over, and going through the menu.

3) Gain - the manual says '5' which will give you a rather slow sluggish boost rise. I had to experiment with this a few times as it will make you 'feel' as if your car is slower. I have mine set at about '11' and response is very quick but remember putting gain too high will cause the boost pattern to trail off higher in the rpm range.

What I mean by this is the lower the gain, the more stable the boost will be after 2nd turbo comes on BUT the trade off is the car will feel less responsive. Higher gain boost comes on very very quickly but not as stable, I think I get like 10-9-11/12. So just experiment with this until you find the right setting for you.

If all else fails try switching over to version 2.

Raising the gain made no difference. I'll switch to version 2 tomorrow.

First of all raising the gain isn't going to raise your boost level. All that does is raise boost reponse. I remember my gain was in the 20's. You have to adjust the setting for more boost. The way you installed will work because I ran it like that for 2 years in sequential mode.

Don't confuse 'set' and 'gain' as they are different things. There are two ***** on the boost controller and pushing the right **** lets you scroll through the menu shows and eventually you get to the 'set'. If you want to get to the 'gain' you have to press and hold the left ****.

Have a look and download the manual but yes change to V2.

OK, maybe I'm confused as to how to work the controller. How do I raise the boost? (I hate electronics)

I misread the manual, I set the boost rather then setting the gain. I'll set both and see if that was was my problem.

Boost and gain both set to 10 and still nothing, so version 2 it is. Another question, I unhooked the wastegate solenoid completely (vacuum lines as well as the connector), was I supposed to do that and when I eliminate the pre-control should I do the same?
