Question Blitz BOV

Anybody know if there is any real difference between a blitz DD bov for the rx-7 and a universal blitz bov?

And where is a good place to get one?

The one for the rx7 probably comes with all the hardware needed to install it into the 7. Universal is well universal. So other then what the kit contains, i'd say theres no diffrence.

Yeah, thats what I thought. I've seen universal ones for $200, the 7 ones seem to be closer to $300. Which d'you recon would be the best buy?

the one made for the rx7 is to replace the factory bov. while the universal usually comes with a flange or a flange is needed to weld it to a "hardpipe" like intercooler piping.

and also from everyone i talked to (like a million) if you want the "blitz" sound you might as well just go buy a turbo xs bov and save yourself 100-200 buucks!

i ended up going with the hks ss bov (does have the purple insert) with the flange to TIG weld to my greddy fmic hardpiping!

oh yeah and dont buy an apexi bov the diaphrams break too easily. turbosmart bov sound like turboxs bov. like i said b4 the blitz sound like the turbo xs intern meaning it also sounds like the turbosmart bov also. alot of people use the greddy bov but i dont know if that b/c it sounds good or the just buy the greddy cause alot of people have the greddy intakes, intercooler, ect so they just figure to get the greddy bov. the hks ss bov sounds like a loud *** "strong" doooooosssssshhhhhhh sound ! oh and there is one no wait **** i think that IS the greddy one that sounds like a really loud whistle. yeah i dont like the ones that whuistle they make the car sound *****/ lacking a powerful motor "sound " if you know what i mean!

I know exactly what you mean. Think i'll probably take your advice and get the turbo xs. Alot of people have told me the best is the Greddy, but after your comments i think i'll avoid it. Thanks again

i have heard alot of others talking about the type s i dont really know and dont want to steer you in the wrong direction from what you want you may have to do a little research yourself into that matter just call a couple of the shops i listed above they should give you a good idea of which turbo xs you should purchase.

i have the blitz dd and like i a lot the construction seems more solid than any of the others and i prefer the sound as it is less whistly than other BOVs I have heard.

If you want to buy the universal I will sell you the elbow, brackets, & pipe that makes it RX7 specific for $50shipped (I assume shipping to the other side of the pond can't be that crazy, or am I wrong). you'd be $50 ahead of the game. I dont need it anymore since I have mounted it on a flange closer to the intake.
