I got some very good housings I'm gonna use. These are reusable, but I'm gonna get new seals and want better housings. Plus I need new seals cause I was doing the twist and bend test with the seals vs stock seals. Lol

cast iron doesn't really twist or bend, it just breaks. well for the most part, the side seals are cast iron and bend to a small extent for comparison sake.

That carnage is pretty nuts and OEM apex seals would have broken much sooner. Seems like the ALS held up as advertised

The exhaust portwork looks uneven and has no bevel on the trailing edge...... not very apex seal friendly, at least based on the pic:

trailing edge you mean, yes i didn't notice that before so it could have contributed to detonation with tiny shrapnel that could have caused preignition.

it's surprising that still after so many years we still see sharp portwork being done without bevels.

A Snow Performance Boost Cooler will allow you to run your 100 octane tune without having to actually use 100 octane race gas. You can expect to make simliar power numbers as to what using 100 octane race gas would get you plus 5-10% more because of a cooler aircharge and more detonation suppressant.

My phone takes the pics in 8mb shots and the photo size is to large to upload from my phone, which I do all my forum browsing on. So I have to import them to my ipad, resize them, then post them. Dammit. lol.

Use urly app it's free , and let's you upload picture and you can resize them. it would also give you a forum code to put here on the forums

It actually was acting normal. Unbelievable it would idle decently most of the time, a little higher than normal 1000rpm. At 1200rpm it was reading mid -300 on the pfc. The boost gauge would show -12in vacuum, then if u blip the throttle it would dive to under 900rpm and run like a freight train.

Didn't do a compression test cause it was obvious that it had to be rebuilt.

I drove the car back and forth a few days after the detonation on the dyno.

I recently tore down Scrub's old engine which had endured many years of abuse on track. He was running RA classic seals back when that was all they offered, that's how old this engine was He had detonated it a bit years back and it survived.

Upon teardown due to coolant o-ring failure, we found that one of his corner seals was completely broken into two pieces, basically a 1/3-2/3rd break. Car ran ok for years like that, albeit the compression when we checked it two years ago was a weak 80-82 psi all around.

Ask carlos iglesias what a trailing edge port bevel will do for you.

Incredible, how every single side seal went, but the ALS seals held like they were supposed to.

Do you have a spare pair rotors?

^^^^^^^^ a spare. Lol. Nope. Had to buy a set and a new shaft. With that severe detonation I wanted to be safe on everything.
