black smoke and missfireing

Engine is missfireing alot and black smoke coming out of exaust. Also turbos dont work. What could my problem be? My spark plugs are pretty old could it be that?

how many miles are on the turbos? think the went? One of my friends turbos went and it was pouring black smoke.

Is that the little black box on the firewall??

That hose came undone on mine and caused the same problem.

Yes that was the MAP sensor. IIRC it says boost on it.

Definitely sounds like the map sensor. It also wouldnt be a bad idea to change the plugs and wires if they are really that old.

I had a cracked plug a two years ago and it did something like that with addition of flames out the back.

Checked map sensor its working correctly. And to nopistons 94 what plugs are you talking about? Do you guys think that it may be the spark plugs? When i pulled the back 2 spark plugs they were a lil wet. What does this mean?

Anyone else got some advice? I will be changing my spark plugs this weekend when i get paid. But do you guys think it could be something else?

get a compression test done. you might have a blown motor, sounds like the exact same thing that happened when my motor was blown. although it might only be the plugs/wires... but i would get a compression test done.

...probably plug wires, misfire caused by arc from wire to block;...black smoke from unburned gas/carbon buildup.
