I was told when i bought the car it has 4.77 gears and a kaaz lsd. Well at the track i blew apart the lsd, and am in need of a new one. Well basically, if it is a kaaz, how the heck would that happen.
I warmed up my tires and wanted to get a good run (because it would be my last of the night) i launched at about 5200 rpms and there is a horrible grinding noise. I get it home and the lsd is ripped apart and metal shavings are everywhere. I called the guy that i bought it from and he said he bought the kaaz lsd and gears from a rotary place in tx. I am going to call them to make sure it was a kaaz. But otherwise i dont know what to do

 

Many times the diff casing fails and not the actual differential. Since you kept driving with horrible noise you ruined any chance of reusing any parts.

 

Did you break your LSD in properly...........

 

the casing is fine, the 4.77s are fine. The lsd is shot, the gears are in peices and it was broke in fine.

What gears "are in pieces"? What was "broke in fine"?


Exactly what do you need to know? Why do you think the gears are OK when you claim metal shavings are everywhere?
