Who did the rebuild?

Do you have a rotary shop nearby that you can bring the rex to?

How is the car driving otherwise?

How do all your gauges look? Fuel pressure, water temp (do you have any aftermarket gauges/power fc commander)?

Have you gotten underneath the car and done a visual inspection of the motor, turbos, etc?

Inquiring minds want to know

are you on the stock ecu?

Check the connector for the omp and follow it down to the omp. It's dumping oil in at idle? Is your car in limp mode because of the omp code?

i am on the stock ecu.
its not in limp mode.
i got the engine from fritz flynn, a member of the rx7 club.
Car is driving good
Gauges look good but the air fuel ratio is on the last bar of rich. may be to rich.
i got a small oil leak by the oil cooler but im fixing that thursday.
Im not sure of any shops near me.
every thing looks good under the car except for the oil from the leak.

IMO: The stock oil pressure gauge can never be fully trusted, I would wait until the oil leak is fixed then go to the next step.

bring it to maztech in tampa

it will be worth the trip trust me

Just call Jeff and make an appointment and you can make a days trip out of it and be done. 813 874 0937

I don't think its wise to have a streetport and non seq on stock ecu. I'm very surprised it runs that well. Turn the boost down as low as you can.

Had the exact same problem. Take it somewhere like Precision Tune and check the Hydrocarbons. Probably like 1200 or so. You've popped off 1 or 2 of the hoses off the rats nest which contol the emissions. Take some carb cleaner with the little hose and spray it at each rats nest connection. That's what Precision Tune did for me and found 2 off. HC went from 1200 down to 7 or so. Don't laugh about Precision Tune - it's all in the mechanic. 1+ months at PFS and Peter told me the black smoke was normal Neither PFS or Mazda could figure it out but it was 2 vacuum hoses...

My car is basically stock like yours

Check your coils, spark plugs, and wires. Could be an ignition problem.....
