Was black interior ever on option?

I am currently looking at black FDs. I still have yet to see a black on black FD. Was tan the only option?

I got black cloth in my base model up here in Canada, its montego blue though. I had a hard time finding black interior but finally found the perfect car. Im sure u could just dye the dash and change the carpets and seats. not sure how good it would look or if its worth it. I hate tan interior on any car.

'94 R2 Brilliant Black on black is nice. That was my original color and year I was lookin' for. Too hard to find...heh. Luckily, my OEM CYM was local (...somewhat ironic!). Good luck!

vel525 is right. The sales brochures for all three years show black leather was not an option with a black exterior. That doesn't mean there couldn't have been a special order, or someone who switched in black leather seats at some point.
The only other leather option for a black car, besides tan, was red in 93 and 94. The 94 color scheme looked especially nice, and it's very rare.

The leather in my car still looks excellent, but it's taken enormous care on my part to keep it that way. The leather in the FD is very thin, and about the cheapest I've ever seen. So if you want leather in good shape, it's likely you'll have to recover stock seats, or get aftermarket seats covered in leather.

OK, now it makes sense why I can't find anything. I guess I will look for the base model as I don't feel like doing the swap. Did base model have the Torsen LSD like the touring did? That's what I heard somewhere.
