I chose a 93' r1 rx-7.

I went to go look at it today, and man I was astonished, outta the 3 rx-7s i already took a look at this one was the one. Eventhough it had 73k miles the inside was flawless with suede seats, it had a 98 bumper and front lights, only mods on it was the apex exhaust and an intake. It was clean, the guy selling it said, the person who had it before wasnt able to pay off the car so it go repossessed then that's how he got it. So tell me what you guys think. I already down a deposit and am ready to buy it. Also for you guys who think i dont know much about rx-7s, i've been studying rx-7s hard just this month, but i been a fan of them since 97, and ever since then any article and anything about an rx-7 i've read, it has always been the car i wanted, after i totaled my prelude sh, awhile ago because some ******* almost hit me and i turned spinning outta control. I knew the next car i was gonna get was gonna be an rx-7. And i have had a year to make this decision, and it has always been an rx-7 i wanted, i looked into the supra, 300z, but this is the one i want.

Congrats on all the research you have done to supplement your desire to own a FD.

One thing that just cannot be overstated is what an intensely powerful car the 3rd gen RX-7 is.

Treat it with respect.

You will THINK you know how to handle it, in a short time as the car is very driveable even at 9/10ths.

But there are many, many, many people...especially younger guys....that get an FD, and get overconfident, or start showing off to a friend, and the next thing we see is a post that along the lines of, "oh crap....wrecked my car last night....."

Please treat the car with the respect it deserves. You obviously have the desire, just temper that with intelligence and the car will give you many, many miles of such enjoyment it ought to be illegal!

i've been through that stage, i had a prelude, and almost got into accidents many times cuz of hot headedness, if i ever do any racing, it'll be legal on a track, other than that, anyone who revs at me will just get the finger.

wouldn't reccomend giving the finger... people have labeled rx7 owners as 'stuck up' before and we don't need to be adding to that theory... the best thing to do is just to ignore them, it'll make them embarassed instead of pissed, and you'll get more enjoyment of seeing them do a ricer flybye on you than trying to pull some stupid **** and run you off the road just cause you flipped them the bird...

but congrats none the less... hopefully i'll be making a post like this in the coming months
