a solid one will cause a lot of vibration. I went with the garfinkle one with the bushing

Neither. Now that I have urethane motor mounts, I dont need the ETB anymore.

Word to that, I am running polyurethane mounts without a torque brace. I think its a better solution.

Garfinkle torque brace all the way. If you are having your motor out or something, then maybe the motor mounts would be a good idea but if you dont want to deal with the install, Garfinkles torque brace was one of the best investments I have made with this car.

I use FEED ETB. It almost totally cured my 2-3 (miss)shifts.
I still get some vibration (mostly when pulling out of the parking lot), so the soild piece one must be quite distracting.

I've also got the garfinkle one with the bushing, along with new motor mounts and a diff brace. Shifting is dang near perfect. I get a little whine from the rear now that the diff brace is on. My cure, just turn on the radio.

Best IMO is the Garfinkle brace.

I use scalliwags solid aluminum mounts. NO problems and the vibration is minimal, compared to the other annoying attributes of my single turbo external vented wastegate beast. So with the rest of the crap that is going on i don't notice anything....except ROCK solid shifts and NO driveline movement.!
Which can cause it's own unique set of problems But that happens with a ETB or whatever type brace you run. You are forcing the "forces" to find another way out of the driveline. The diff. is the most likely area it will show itself. in my experiences.

Make my own brace ($30) and looks clean. Only vibration around idle but smooth on the road. Motor mounts when I do my oil pan.

I have the Gotham MMounts and no need for a brace. I wouldn't use any of those though. I'd rather do a custom setup with a motorcycle steering damper to absorb and slow down the movement instead of stoping it and transfering stress. Allthough i'm kinda bummed it doesn't vibrate the passenger side "lol".

You have to call Garfinkle and he'll send the parts to you.
If interested PM me and I'll give you his contact info.

Here's a pic, it has the rubber bushings (2) in the two bolt holes to allow some movement.

How much is the Garfinkle one? It looks like a simple piece to make. Any write ups on how to make your own?

Seems like you really like this mod. You mentioned that there is no vibration, is that for the entire RPM range? Also, there seems to be a lot of pros, but what about the cons for these motor mounts?

Maybe I need a ride in your FD. If you remember my FD sounds and feels like **** while taking turns due to the Kaaz. I'm trying to avoid anything that will make it feel like ****.

This brace (feed ) looks like the rotaryextreme . Propably both works in the same way (like damper ).
Who runs with rotaryextreme brace ?

Hi Jay,

There is no downside at all that I have found. No Vibrations at all, period. Sure, would love to give you a ride in my FD once the weather turns nicer. Hope to be tuned for 19 psi by that time too, so it should be a fun ride
