What's the best place to send out the secondary injectors to get cleaned, ovebored to 1300cc (from 850)

The only company I know is RC engineering.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Please provide place and approximate cost for the pair (if available)

I had my 850 cc secondaries bored to 1300 cc. I went through RX7 Store though... I'm not sure what the cost would be if you sent them directly to RC Engineering. The cost through RX7 Store was around $300 I think. I have to get my reciept.

no real power goals, just that my injector duty's a bit on the high side so i'll just upgrade to be safe. I'm currently on the twins right now but i'll be going single sometime..

haha yeah there's always a debate of v8 vs rotary.. anyway i think they're both great setups.

 

I belive witchhunter does this as well and is far cheaper than RC.

Witchhunter does NOT bore our injectors or modify them.

 

175 per injector. That's what i was quoted. Ship them to them. They do the work then they contact you for billing. I'm still saving for the upgrade but their work looks amazing.

Modifying injectors for increased output is a bad idea.

Be sure and have them flow tested after this has been done to verify the work.

You should have another shop do this, one that wasn't involved in the modification.

We have always had issues with spray pattern and with linearity of fuel delivery at different pulse widths.

We won't do it and then won't accept the liability for the blown up engine.

The way to do this is to buy an injector off the shelf that has the flow rate you need.

Joe, you've posted that info before and I'll post a qualifier again. There are NO larger side-feed injectors on the market. The only way to upgrade the injector size without boring them out is to buy the Bosch 1600cc top-feed injectors that require an aftermarket fuel rail, pressure regulator, and the removal of emissions. This is not an option for many people.

Hundreds of FD owners are running 1300cc injectors, very few have had problems. To say that RC Eng is publishing false spray pattern tests and flow rates on their injectors is pretty slanderous to say the least.

 

I made no reference to RC Engineering in my post. There are others doing injector "boring" as well as RC. What I said was to independently verify the modification.

If you must go to a top feed injector, so be it.

Guys, just had RC do my injectors and got them last week. I had two 850s cleaned and put in a 'decked' primary rail. Had two others bored out to 1300s. They proved both before and after flow rates and checked the pattern. It cost me $400 for all the work.

I got a ton of references for them from various sources and spoke with them on the phone, very very knowlegdeble and professional. Would do business again.

If there were 1300cc's off the shelf i'd buy them, i'm not a fan of boring out the injectors but that's the best way to get more flow without much modification (getting new fuel rails, removing ACV)

 

Since this is such a comman mod for our cars, you would think someone could manufacture a drop in side-feed injector in a larger size. Would definately be a good seller.
