Which is the best pipe to install a BOV on?

I have a Greddy Type S BOV that I am going to have installed Wednesday. What is the best pipe to install it on or does it matter?

Are you talking about the best mounting location or how to hook it up?

I'd imagine on the hot side of the intercooler... Since that is where the stockers are... But then again the Greddy elbow can be bought with the flange... and that's right by the throttle body..

I thought you were supposed to put them as close to the throttle body as possible, but I see alot on the hot side of the IC. I'm still stock.

Most stock turbo cars and turbo hondas I see are near the tb. I think it makes more sense that way. I'd think theres less chance of compressor surge.

put it on the hot side of the IC and it will be louder

hotter air = less dense = more friction with sound devices, so energy is transferred to noise

Put on the intake elbow, thats the most practical, were you going for louder or functional...?

My mechanic put them on the elbow attached to the throttle body. The pressure to be releaved starts there when you close the throttle.

The HKS SSQV

I bought the HKS kit from the RX7store and it attaches where the stock one does off the nipple on the y pipe....all I have to say is its LOUD...I'm by no means a mechanic and put it on myself, the kit is pretty self explanatory

I am considering going to a none seq setup and using to boost controlers to controll teh boost one profec a at teh primary and a mechanical ont eh secondary! does this make any since or am I hurting the car! AS well I put two aftermarket filters on the tweo larger hoses running to the intake box. I also have a blow off vavle what do I do with the three hoses that go to teh box. I know the one hooks up to the bov. sorry so stupid but I do not want to mess anything up! just got a rebuild and new twins, with a three inch downpipe!

I think you'll be safe either way. Better than NOT having one!
