Best/loudest BOV?

I am looking to buy a bov and I want a loud one. Anyone have any sound clips of the ones they have?

TurboXS RFL Type H. Loudest one. HOWEVER... Buying the loudest BOV doesn't mean you are buying a good one. The stock BOV is BETTER than most aftermarket ones.. You should really put the money elsewhere. Good luck on your project.

That turbo bov wouldn't harm anything in my car would it? It is completely stock as far as hp goes. I am just after loud for the time being

No. The BOV will not harm your car. If you are just looking for a little sound... Disconnect your BOV from the airbox.

The BOV is the valve closest to the Airbox. Disconnect the black hose from the airbox and cap the hole. DO NOT cap the hose, but the hole in the airbox you just made.

Your BOV will be VERY loud now.

Why? The stock ones are plenty loud if you have an open-type instake like a Pettit or Greddy Airinx??

I have an unplugged stock bov, and I always get asked what aftermarket bov I have, because it's sounds so damn good and loud.

I have the RFL, and I don't know whats wrong w/ it. It's not that loud at all. Sounds just as loud as the stock one. I'm really dissapointed, I'm thinking about selling it. Anybody have any ideas? The only mods I have for performance are a hks dp, and a k&n drop in.

I've heard the stock bov may not be a one way valve and can suck up small debris, and it is safer to get an aftermarket one. Can anyone clear this up?

^^I think thats still open for debate. Some people will put those little air filters onto the stock bov opening.

I seriously do not think that happens... If it wasn't a one way valve... It would be a constant boost leak... Yes?

Under Vacuum it does spit out a lot of hot air, makes me wonder if that isn't a source of a lot of the Stock Airbox issues...
Dunno what it doe sunder boost, I can't run that fast

Yeah I've heard of these filters, but where can I get one to fit on the stock bov? Right now, it's a dilemma to me on whether to vent the stock bov (save money) or buy an aftermarket one so I wouldn't have to deal with stock one sucking in air.

You're still going to need to block off the hole in the airbox !!! Either way... Plus the stock adapter plates are very expensive for 3'rd gens... almost as much as the BOV itself... WHY ??? Who knows cause they can charge that much....

Talon...

imma cut u a break...from one newbie to another hehe

http://www.935motorsports.com/bovmultimedia.htm

that is THE website to go to if u wanna hear how many of the popular BOVs sound

also, i personally wouldn't risk the stock BOV setup...cuz i have heard from others how somethin got sucked up in... messed up all sorts of things...

i personally have the HKS SSQV, and i LOVE it. it's adjustable (not sure if other BOVs are adjustable)...so i can have it as a high pitch whistle (that'll wake up everyone in a 10 mile radius lol), or a deep sounding gush of air. also, adjusting it allows you to adjust the frequency...so that it can go off whenever u barely boost, or so it will only be heard when u fully spool up (but when it u do hear it..wow)

id say that's a beautiful highly recommended peice id say u should go for...

a good site i might add. i like my blitz DD bov it sounds pretty intimidating w/ a sound like lots of air passing through it unlike some other high pitch sounding ones.
